I started watching what I ate last Tuesday which was Dec 27th right after Christmas. Worked out 6 days a week took Sunday off. No Sugar, less Carbs I have lost around 8 pounds which is really good.

I am watching everytime what I am putting in my mouth.

I am thinking that writing my weight down will hold me accountable for how bad I did during the Holidays. I weigh 175lbs and I would like to start by loosing 20lbs within the next 4 months. emoticon

Looks like we're pretty much in the same boat. I joined SparkPeople about 6 months ago, but I got too busy to focus on my fitness and I ignored the emails coming in. I've decided to make it a priority and I started my diet today. I'm starting off at 178 and I would also like to lose approximately 30-40lbs. Maybe we can support each other. :-)

Hi,

Hi - I am newbee to Spark. I have challenged myself to go down one size by end of January and all motivated. I am carrying 40 extra pounds which need to be taken off. I have started keeping my journal and move at least 30 minutes each day.

Hi there. I just joined SP and I love it already. I used to go to WW but meetings were hard to make.i think the support from SP is just as good if not better. Since I have started I've lost 3 lbs.I hope this momentum and motivation last...

My name is Beautynsuhine real name Carrie C. When i started this journey in 2009 I was at my highest of 265 pds. Along the way i joined Jenny Craig and Curves. Both of them offered me a great opportunity to start moving forwards. Just this month I hit a huge milestone in my journey and that was when i weighed in at 187.0 pds.The last 3 months have been a complete struggle for me with wanting to put in the effort to exercise. I am also slacking about doing my food tracker, blogging and chatting with teams i have joined. I have been out of touch and unfocused I really need to get my momentum and motivation going again. Great with food and portion control not so great with keeping up on site and working out. I was doing so well for awhile there and then I am not sure what got into me after Sept

We just wrapped up our office "Biggest Loser Challenge" and guess what??? I won! I was the Biggest Loser! I lost a grand total of 26.4lbs in the last 15 weeks! I'm a little over half way to my ultimate goal, but I think this definitely helped "spark" the motivation I needed to get going! My current weight is 157.0 lbs!

So I am away from home and dont have a scale here. Maybe the best thing since lately I have slid a lot. I could sneek to walmart and use theirs but I am scared...maybe I can lose some before I get back home and have to weigh in again but I really feel bloated today..ggrr, yep that time again. anyday now.

I've maintained this week. I'm happy with that because i has a small gain at the start of the week then lost it again. Too much cider but it was a one off.

I'm off on holiday tonight. I'm going to Malta for a week. Fingers crossed I don't gain so I'm going to try and be careful.

Haven't weighed in for a couple weeks due to an injured foot from a fall off a training horse and 2 weeks sitting on my rump!!!

Happy to report that this morning 8 weeks, 1 day since my start I'm now 11 lbs down at 174!!! .4 lbs less than before my injury put me on the couch!

Now I just have to make up for that 2 weeks and get back on track!!!

THE GREAT THING ABOUT SPARK IS BEING ABLE TO TRACK YOUR NUTRITION. I STILL EAT OUT BUT I COMPENSATE BY ADJUSTING WHAT I EAT THE REST OF THE DAY. I WISH YOU CONTINUED SUCCESS. I HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE LOSING WEIGHT TILL I STARTED USING THE NUTRITION TRACKER AND EXERCISE TRACKER. NOW I'M DOWN 9 LBS IN A MONTH AND SEVERAL INCHES. Hi all,
I've not been on for a while. Congrats to all who have had good weight losses and hang in there to those who had a disappointing week.

I've lost another pound. So that's 5 pound in 3 weeks. I'm very pleased with this because losing it slowly will hopeful mean it will stay off. I've not been dead strict either. The odd small treat here and there makes me feel I'm not on a diet. Its a good way to eat for life.

I really need to start exercising. Its just I have not managed to get in the swing of things yet. I need to get motivated this week.

I don't know if I'm jumping in late on this or what, but I weighed last Friday, and will weigh again this Friday. Last week I weighed in at 179. I'm interested to see what effect the changes I've made have had on my weight.

Week 1 of South Beach diet and return to the gym. Down to 196 from 202, feeling good.

I did break down and eat a McDonalds Junior Chicken today but balanced it out with a 900 calorie burn at hockey.

Hopefully I can use this forum to stay motivated and on the right track.......

Sadly I have gained 4lbs for this weeks weigh in. Then again the last time I weighed myself was 10/10/10. Over all I don't think that's too bad for that period of time.

It felt good eating well all day today and getting my water intake. On my way to being back on track. Now if I could just add some exercise I would be all set.

I weighed in this morning and didn't lose any my first week. However, at mid week I had somehow gained 1.5 and by today I was back to my starting weight, so I don't really mind too much. I would have been heartbroken if I had gained though. I really worked hard at working out, but this week should be MUCH better since I went grocery shopping and got lots of good food.

KNIT2PURL2- really pleased you got it sorted, for some reason mine changes all on its own sometimes.lol i just look at it as long as the weight loss stays the same then thats ok.
so after a terrible week of not counting calories and not having time to fit in all my exercise ( in fact only once) its not surprising to learn that i have gained 2 pounds. Also i think i am retaining water as its nearly that time of month. Good news though is that i am going swimming today and plan to work at it really hard, also have booked in a Weds swim too. fingers crossed for every one else.xx

Thanks Elmacri. I've sorted it but I put the figures in pounds and it shows kg. I will try to convert it later.

I've lost another 2lb. So thats 4lb in 2 weeks. I'm so pleased. Even with weightwatchers I never lost this amount in 2 weeks. I'm happy that the weight is coming off and don't mind if it comes off even slower as long as it stays off.

You'll need to create a SparkPage to add these to your message board signatures.

Hi All,
I'm new here so its nice to meet you all. I'm 36 and live in England. I'm support worker so I do shifts which can make diet and exercise difficult.
If been doing this for a week, and not been 100% good because I've been on nights and find hard to get into a routine. Dispite that I've lost 2lb. So now I weight 130lb I'm dead pleased. I'll be happy to lose 1 or 2lb a week. My husband is doing it with me and lost 3lb.
My main goal this week is to start exercising.

Am only down one pound this week........after all that hiking i think i have built up some major lag muscle as i am smaller in my jeans for sure. Really pleased i can keep doing it, well done to everyone else too, there is some great weight lose there !!!!

Well, I lost 1/2 pound. This concerns me because I am satisfied eating at the high end of my calorie intake and I'm afraid if cut some I will not be satisfied and will start digging in the cupboards. Maybe I should add an extra run in every week. emoticon
