I would suggest using Spark's nutrition and fitness trackers to get started. When it comes to fitness, start with a short 10mins and build up from there.

Thanks T1GG3RFR33K! It always makes it a bit easier to know you are not the only person out there frustrated with the lack of scale results. I notice other differences but you always want that scale to get lower too. emoticon

I know how you feel, but remember you are doing a tough workout and building muslce. Everytime I start a workout regime especially one that uses lots of muscle and builds muscle I dont see any weight loss for like the first month but I can see the differences. Like you told me your body is adjusting to the hard workout give it a few to start up again. I am here with you the only weight i lost was when i was sick. If it hadn't been for that I dont think I would have lost any.

I'm feeling kind of down today, reflective almost. I've been reading blogs today and wrote my own as well. I haven't lost in two weeks and I'm feeling a bit deflated I guess. I know I will get the weight off, a little at a time. I am just trying to stay positive. I plan on getting in as much exercise tonight as possible and for the rest of the week before my trip. I'm just trying to stay focused. Thanks for letting me vent.

Does anyone know something that would be high in carbs but low in fat?

Last week I thought I was gonna quit I thought I didn't have anymore to give and then I got the push I need from you guys and i am feeling wonderful, if i did drugs i would be high right now emoticon

emoticon I feel sooooooo goooood today. I am glad you guys pushed me to continue. I did my chest and back exercise today and did more pull ups(modified) and push ups than last time I did the pull ups more on my strength than with the help of the chair and i feel great. I was not able to finish the last 4 sets of push ups due to my wrist issues but my husband even said that i did a good job and he can see results, He NEVER sees results and that made me feel great!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone else if having a great day and remember to strive for the best even when you feel the worst. It really does pay off. Keep up the great work and support. WE WILL MAKE OUR GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know exactly how you are both feeling. As Audrey knows, I've been having a very similar week but as I encourage her to keep going, I have to talk myself into continuing. Weightloss is a forever challenge but once we get past these first few obstacles, it will be easier. Not easy just easier. I completely understand how you feel but you really do just have to keep pushing through it. Your body is trying to reject the changes you are making, don't reject those changes. I know you can do this, I 110% believe in you. We are here on this journey together. Keep it up. You won't be sorry. emoticon

I think everyone is having a bad week. I know I am. I am feeling a lot better today though. I had to really push myself yesterday and today is my "rest" day if you want to call it that. I had to go to class and do homework after work and my class is an hour drive from home. So I didnt work out but neither did i actually rest. Anyway I am looking forward to tomorrow and start a new week of working out. I am also glad to see others here having similar problems, I always thought it was me and not wanting to do stuff, which it still is but I see that I am not alone anymore and that really helps. I am glad to have the support from you guys or else I would have quit wednesday.

Hi everyone! I am new to the posting and blogging thing. You all sound like you are doing a great job with this struggle. AND I MEAN IT IS A STRUGGLE!! Some days I get the feeling that I can't do any better and this is just how my body is meant to be. Definitely having one of those days today. :(

I think there is something in the air making me feel blah this week. Although I'm doing my workout's, I don't feel motivated to do them. I know it's probably my body fighting the changes I am making it do but it's really hard to push past that. My workout last night was really difficult because I was a bit sore from my workout the day before. Today is my rest day, only walking is allowed. Hopefully I get a loss this weight, I think that will revive me. emoticon

Just wanted to stop in and say that I'm so glad that I found sparkpeople and so many people that are my age and (no offense to anyone) that there aren't a billion little skinny people on here saying "yay! go you!) It feels so good to have people here that have the same amount of weight to lose and about the same age as I am!
I am on a strict metabolic diet and have lost 8 lbs in almost 2 weeks. It is so exciting but has be SO tough at the same time! I am a carbaholic and that is one of the things I can't have! I think I have been having withdrawls! lol but logging on to sparkpeople with all of the support, I think I'm gonna make it! emoticon

My suggestion is to make time to spark EVERYDAY! If not daily at least! READ the articles! DO the sparkdiet! I am not reading materials from any other source of weight loss support like books or programs. I am not using anything except the spark diet! AND IT WORKS! SOme people don't seem to think they can eat carbs and lose weight- well I started of obese and I ate carbs AS INSTRUCTED IN the SPARK DIET and I have now lost 40 pounds! I am almost in the simply overweight category now. So if I can do it you can. I have gone from 244 to 204 on the spark diet ALONE. Please give it a try before u waist money on another program. Sparkpeople is free and it WORKS! Make as many friends as possible. Find more teams you connect with and get to know people. U can add me as a friend if u want support. I am helping co-lead my july class team now and Ive learned a lot.

Remember SPARK WORKS! And if u r a person of faith - PRAY! It has helped me a lot. I know I will reach my goals with God on my side and spark online!!!!

God bless-
Mrs. K

P.S. remember dont waste money! Sparkpeople works! I was so happy about this program that I decided to support spark by pre-ordering their book- and they gave me a $20 spark store certificate! So this truly has not cost me anything. TRY IT!

Just had a little chat note to post! I won second place in a contest that I discovered via sparkpeople! I was reading an article about good carbs here on spark and they had a link to the whole grains council. Cuz whole grains are just sooo good for weight loss! Ive gone from 244 to 204 eating them every day! So good at controlling hunger! Anyway I won a bunch of food! Check out my blog for today (oct 21). I show the pic that won and a link to my essay where i mention spark in the contest!

God bless!

I feel exactly the same way. I get off work in 3 hours then I can head home to dinner and my workout. When you are dragging is when you need to work out the most. I'm having a yucky day but refuse to let myself mope too much. Just a little bit. emoticon Get your workout in there girl!!

Okay I feel better. I guess I am fixing to workout now emoticon You know I use to hate yoga cause its slow and boring but once I learned its suppose to help you relax and stuff Its not so bad anymore and man does it use muscle. I cant use a mat with it though, my hands slide on it, weird i thought mats are suppose to help you, hmmm maybe I'm just weird.

Okay, I got my tantrum out and just finished my test in HR management so I am going to go do legs and back of my p90x. Will be back later.

I love yoga, as well. Between that and my pilates, I stay pretty well relaxed.

Glad you are feeling better T1GG33R.

I'm glad you got your yoga in and am so glad you are feeling better.

It is an intense workout which is why I'm not going to beat myself up over no loss. I'm just happy that I didn't gain. I noticed some slight definition in my arms (just a bit) which has me a tad bit excited. If this keeps up, I'm going to start running around my office flexing my newly formed baby sized muscles at people!! emoticon I'm staying active which is the important part.

I should get back into yoga, it is so relaxing. I should pick up some new videos, the one I have sucks. emoticon Hope you are having a great day!

I'm with Jessica on this one. Take it easy and build back up slowly. You were sick and it takes time to get back on your feet. I did Jillian today for my 5th workout (I did 3 in a row). Tomorrow is my rest day but it's also my weigh in. Wish me luck! I'm fairly positive I lost this week. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

You did tonights workout and that is great. I have read somewhere that instead of trying to double a workout to make up for a missed workout, just try adding 5 or ten mins to each workout until you've made it up. Also, as long as you get back on track it's okay to miss a workout here and there. Things in life can't always be perfect and that is okay as long as you are doing your best. You are doing a wonderful job.

Well i managed to do tonights workout. It was tough though, kept getting queezy. Thought about trying to make up for yesterdays miss but after doing todays I think I will take it easy. Maybe if I am up to it tomorrow i will do both. I know I dont need to over do myself but I feel like I am missing out on the purpose. Perhaps I will take it easy this week to recover from the stomach flu and just add an extra week to this cycle since I have missed 2 days of it. What do you guys think?

Sometimes I think I am to hard on myself and that is one reason I joined a group to see how everyone else is doing and make sure I dont set myself up for failure. Let me know what you think please so I can quit worrying myself to death emoticon

I want to do P90X after Jillian but I'm not there yet. hahaha I hope you are feeling better, the tummy flu is the worst but way to go on losing 4 lbs. Not the best way to lose it though!! I just did Jillian for the 4th time. But it is time for me to get started on some homework!! Have a great weekend!

KELLIRBW-

It's a great workout but it's really tough. Some people cannot get through the first 10 minutes, others can only do the warm up. Do as much as you can and build up from there. I was amazed at how well I got through the 20 minutes but it was really tough. I have no upper body strength but it makes you do push up's. You need to have weights too, I use 3 lb weights. It is well worth it if you choose to buy it but be careful. Do it every other day or like me- 2 days on with 1 off. You need to give your muscles time to heal. There is a SparkTeam about the video, you should check it out. emoticon Have a great weekend and enjoy your day off! It's well deserved.

You do Jillian's Shred to? It is really great. I'm glad I am not the only one abusing myself with her workouts! emoticon I really want to measure my inches next week but I'm going to be good and not do it just yet. I will get two weeks under my belt. emoticon

emoticon I'm glad that you got your workout in and I'm flattered to know that I encouraged you to do it without realizing it!! I think I'm addicted to Jillian, it's kinda scary. hahaha I'm doing two days on with one day of rest. So today will be workout 3 with Jillian and I'm looking forward to finishing up my friday with a good sweat, warm shower and cozy pj's. I took yesterday off from Jillian and instead had dinner with my friend Rhianon who is about to give birth in the next two weeks and my boyfriend John. We had a great visit. Rhianon's husband stayed home with their other daughter so she could have a small break. It was great getting out. Well I must get back to work, too bad since it's friday, but I'm leaving a tad early because I have a midterm review for two hours tonight. Lucky me! You ladies and gents have a great Friday!!! emoticon

Jill, at the bottom of your start page (if you joined to lose weight) there is a section containing diet stages. if you can't find it there, under the tab "Healthy Lifestyle" there should be a link titled "Sparkdiet." Here's the link to the page www.sparkpeople.com/resource/sparkdi

I found this very useful and I hope you find what you are looking for. Feel free to ask or vent about anything. We are all here for you.

LXANGLDEE66- I've never heard of that workout before, can you buy it in stores or only from the Jillian Michaels website. By the way...im new to spark people. Im not sure if I really understand what Im supposed to be doing here. I mean, obviously the point is to learn healthy habits and lose weight, but I dont see anywhere where I am learning or reading what to do, eat, etc. Maybe I missed a section or something. Maybe someone here can help me? Id really appreciate it if you could! Well good luck to all of you. Hope to talk to you all soon!

painint is good. I read somewhere that painting actually burns quite a few calories. So hey you got some work in.

I just finished my workout and if it wasnt for LXANGLDEE66 I dont think I would have worked out.

Thanks LXANGLDEE66 for giving me the push even though you didnt know it. emoticon

Well, I didn't get the usual workout in today; instead I painted for about two hours. We need some color in here as soon as all the walls get painted. At this moment we are just doing white.

I may have to try that later. Especially since its only 20 minutes. Sometimes I dont have time to work out but I try really hard to squeeze it in. I missed yesterdays work out and haven't had time tonight yet. Fixing to go do it. I think I will check my inches weekly instead of the scale. I have lost about a pound it looks like so far my official weigh in is Friday so I wil let you know.

Welcome new comers. If there is any thing you need let me know and I will try and help you out. I am determined to lose this weight this time and I know it can get discouraging.
