Hey everyone! I am back on Spark to make myself more accountable with my new eating plan! I would love any support I can get! I am also happy to give as much support as I can. I work 2 jobs, so I don't seem to get enough time to cook healthy. I will be on here more often! You can bet on that! I am also going to try pre-cooking meals to see if that helps!

Smile Always!
Love ya!

Welllllll.... I fell off the bandwagon for the past couple of weeks. I gained 5 lbs back, and Lee gained 3 lbs back, so Tomorrow, we are jumping back on the bandwagon, and picking up where we left off.

I got new motivation, and I put my goal [size 14] onto paper- along with a picture of a CUTE pink cotton dress and Brown Cowboy boots.... Printed it off, and am about to hang it on my wall. :)

I also saw a pic of my ex husband and his new girl, and I am even more determined than ever to lose down- no, it's not my reason, but it sure is motivation!

Lord, I'm gonna live forever if the good die young!

I get the midnight (well, all day really) snack urge. I find that if I brush my teeth just after dinner, I don't eat again. I'm not sure if it's laziness or the fact that I've indicated to myself that eat-times are over, but not even a freshly made chocolate cake will lure me to eat after that - well, 99% of the time, anyhow.

As for Pizza Hut, they do salads don't they? The ones here do. Try filling up your plate multiple times with salad at the start, so by the time they come to take your main order you're satiated.

Good luck!

Edit: or use the emergency "fill up with diet soda" routine.

Hello All! Just started getting fully into the swing of things (lost 2 pounds, most likely water weight)and I really want to stick with it this time but it's so hard not to get discouraged. I've set myself a few rules to try to stick to. Just small accomplishments like not eating after 8pm (so hard), cutting out pop (diet and otherwise) all but one day a week and getting to bed at a descent hour. I only weigh myself once a week because I find that looking at the number just depresses me to no end. Anyway, tonight I am supposed to be going to Pizza Hut for a friends graduation party and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to avoid eating too much while I'm there. I was thinking of having a protein shake before I go and then only ordering a personal pan pizza. Any other suggestions I could try?

We have the same issues with going out in our area. All the activites are eating, drinking, or spending based. All of which I'm trying to curb. Unfortunately, it's mardi gras season and all the fun involves massive calorie intake. King cake seems to have replaced all the normal meals at my work. I've been exremely good, but it's certainly not easy.

Thank you everyone for all the advice. I will defiantly take that in to consideration. I think my other problem is i am bipolar and i have manic/depressed cycles. Im doing better at night about eating tho. Ive learned that if i have one of those Special K Protein shakes when I think im going to starve at night, it holds me over until morning without the damage of icecream or pizza :). emoticon

I'm Cincinnati area! Looking for a buddy? Let me know!

I don't have a lot of friends here but I'll admit: game nights work well for me and my fiance. Our problems run when I want to go 'out' and the options are spend money shopping somewhere or eat dinner somewhere. Ugh!

Hey everyone! This is the first time I've posted on here, so maybe this was answered a long time ago, but where is everyone from? Anyone from the Cincinnati area?

Kortega09- I try and save a few calories and have a piece of hard candy if I get a late night craving. A peppermint or a small chocolate will usually get me distracted enough that I don't eat something more damaging!!

Also, the question was asked a while ago about what to do with friends that doesn't involve food. My two cents? Game nights! Board games or group video games are awesome and you don't need to have snacks, or you can control what to make!

Kortega09, I know I always get hungry when I'm tired. I think your body craves food for energy when that happens. Getting enough sleep, drinking enough water & eating really nutritious foods curbs my hunger a TON! So does exercise. But it takes time, so for a while I was always hungry. It eventually went away for me.

Have a question if no one mind me asking. Know I wasn't on here that much but it just gotten to me today specially early on this morning, but would like to ask it. So here it goes going to ask it best as I can but here it is. If the fire dept cae right and knocking on the wrong door and told the people that own the building to unlock the door meanwhile those people is hearing from the neighbors that there is a dead animal in the apartment knowing that it isn't true knowing that you here trying your best to clean and keep the place upto date and keep trying to ask for help. Whould the fire dept got the right to ask the people that own the building to go into your apartment while you are there inside your apartment knowing that there is no fire and the stuff is false knowing that the fire was coming from the apartment next to you.

The key to sustaining hunger, is eating the right kind of foods. Protien is an easy way to sustain your hunger. Start your morning with a protien shake, and you will be surprised how much you won't munch in the mornings. Make sure they are lean protiens that you are eating though. Meats with loin on the end of them are generally leaner cuts of meat. Get your chicken boneless and skinless. Make little changes, and you won't be starving! Also, keep something like a cucumber or carrot sticks handy and in plain sight in your fridge. That way when you go to your fridge for a snack, they remind you that you have a goal to reach.

Kortega09: I often find myself in your shoes. I've done the weight loss thing in the past but this is the first time I've had this much to lose so it's very intimidating and daunting. I find that if I don't make the right decisions on what to eat during the day I tend to be starving late at night.

Like right now, I had a waffle with strawberry topping for dinner at 7 and I'm now STARVING! I'm drinking water instead of eating but had I chosen more wisely for dinner I wouldn't have been hungry.

I also keep Kellog's K2O packets around and that seems to help as well. I've found that many times when I think I'm hungry I'm actually thirsty so I try to drink a glass of water before I decide to eat something. Doesn't always work out that way but I try.

I also have to have SMALL goals and rewards. I'm bad about rewarding myself with food. That's a hard habit to break but I'm trying!

Hey Everyone!!! I'm so absorbed in being on team GRAPE that I forgot to check on the main team. How is everyone? I know Velle is still doing great. Congrats!

As for me, yesterday I did water aerobics, not just for old ladies, let me tell you. I enjoyed it and my body is sore! The water resistance is amazing!!!

KORTEGA09- I have had your same issue before. Visit my page. I really believe that one day you just wake up and say.... IM gonna do this. I have been a night crawler all my life and I used to stalk the fridge. I curved this habit by drinking water w/ crystal light packets, something sweet to keep me from searching for more. Every time I craved I would drink, I did that until I was tired of visiting the bathroom. Each visit to the kitchen allowed me to see how, I let my CRAVINGS control me. I won't allow it anylonger. If I were still trying to find out what works for me, I would use the spark diet plan, nutrition and eat whatever they suggest, then the weight will move, but you can still satisfy your cravings, in moderation.

Hope that helps!
Tamm

My name is Rikki, I am 26 years old. Married to a fabulous british man who is very supportive. I have 5 beautiful children ages 9,7,6,3, and 1. The comment I hate the most is - wow with that many kids I would be really thin... It is a lot of running, and a lot of last minute eating, and eating on the go.
I was recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis, which my doctor seems to believe that it has a lot to do with my constant weight struggle.
Not only do I want to lose weight, but I want to get healthy for all of my babies and because diabetes runs in my family, so i need to do whatever I can to avoid it myself. I am an otherwise healthy person so I would like to stay that way. I will be sure to post pictures, I am still trying to get used to this site at the moment.

Hey everyone, here is few quotes I read on daily basic:
"Fear is false expectations"

"Never see failure, but only as learning experience"

"I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed. And the number time of I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying"

"Most people are looking for some secret formula for success, you already have the secret within you, you have to discover within you and take the right action"

"What would you do if your weren't afraid?"

Winner set goals

Believe you can

Success is a process not luck

Obsessing over what stresses us out can cause more stress than what originally made us stressed to begin with

Drop the negativity and focus on the blessing.

If any of you would like more quotes or ideas where to help you think positive and motivated, let me know I would be willing to share what I have learn to help me move forward. "Say nothing, Do nothing, Be nothing"

I love to have friends over for dinner, and I get to prepare the meal. I make a healthy twist of all the classics, and then when we end up doing dinner at their house, they make healthier meals than they would have previously made. Then we usually whip out the active Wii games, and play those for the rest of the night, or we go somewhere where we can walk around and walk off our dinner.

me and my roommates go hiking in the day theres a forested area near our place.

We go for walks at night, we go dancing, we go shopping (which gives us exercise from all the walking) or we just sit and listent o music, talk, and pig out on healthy things like veggie trays and yogurt. When we go to the movies we usually bring our own snacks too so we can control portion sizes and stuff like that :)

i love working out its just the hassle of getting t to the gym and back. packing my bag, taking the bus, taking the bus back feelign gross until i get home to shower. a trip to the gym ends up taking me 2 hours and sometimes it just feels like i dont have the time :( im going to start making time more days a week though starting tomorrow!

I too love working out. I have a 3y.o. son whom I stay at home with. My husband is able to come home for lunch so I work out during that time. It is my break in the day just to be me for me. I spend 20 to 30 minutes on the treadmill and then do 10 to 15 minutes of weights. On Friday I was able to to maintain a 12 min/mile for 2 miles! Felt completely stoked and accomplished.

Hey everyone I am looking forward to starting this weight loss challenge.. I need something like this to re-motivate me.. Seems like I am standing still.. So ready to get my butt back in gear.. Played 2 hours of racquetball last night and I am so sore.

Hey all! I lost another 2 pounds this last week. I weighed in yesterday instead of today b/c I had a feeling it would be in my favor today! I am getting a little obsessed with the scale. Had a bachelorette party this weekend so that wasn't the greatest situation for eating healthy. Oh well new week/new day. I plan to work out today and get back on track! emoticon

I don't think anyone ever gets along with their inlaws. I have been with my boyfriend going on 2 years, and I can't stand any member of his family. I've tried some diet pills myself, they said to stay away from caffeine when you take them. I took one sip of tea when I was taking them, and boy did I get sick. I couldn't stop shaking. So yes, it would be best to stay away from them.

I know where you are coming from. My hubby and I have been married a little over 2 years, and we spent a lot of that time living with them. (trying to get on our feet, having my hubby deal with some stuff from his past, etc.) I didn't really get to decorate our basement apartment, and you felt obligated to go upstairs and talk with her. Luckily we had our own bathroom and kitchen, but it's still not something I would want to do ever again. They are actually trying to get us to move back, but we won't. We can't, for our own sanity! :) Once you are out, things will get better! Just try to keep your distance in the mean time! And stay away from the diet pills, because they cause more health problems when you stop taking them. (Yes, I took them, guilty as charged.)

I'm usually not the one to vent, but it builds up. I've been married for over 2 years and I will never start to like this woman. My husband & I live with his parents because I lost my job. Id rather live in a cardboard box... I dont think we see eye to eye on the color of the sun. I cant go pee w/o her trying to get in my way, move my stuff, boss us around and barge in unannounced. I know my husband tries to stay neutral but she walks over everyone and I butt heads w/ her. I know things will be better when we move out, (bc i dont want to come back to their house) but Im going to choke someone until we move.Which will be a long time, I cant find a job. I just feel like I am the only one in the house that's trying to stay sane and lose weight while everyone eats doughnuts and pops diet pills and gains weight and wonders why?!?

If it's not worth working for, it's not worth having.

My mother in law have our differences, but overall, we just keep a safe distance from each other. Why? What happened?

That's true, sometimes the scale will say that you weigh the same or gained a pound, but you know it cant be true in a way because your clothes fit better than they had before. Mainly it's because you do lose the weight but then you gain muscle emoticon

Scales are finicky! Plus, muscle weighs more than fat. So even if your scale doesn't go down, don't give up! You need to build that lean muscle mass so that you body becomes a fat burning machine!

I told myself a year ago that I was going to lose weight. But I didn't hold up on my promise to myself. But not this year. This year I am doing it. Thank you sparkpeople for your support!
