Anyone have any suggestions on ways to keep myself using my hands to pull up my head when doing crunches? I really want to them more efficiently because that is one of my main trouble areas.

Thanks. I was hoping to find something less expensive than a bodybugg. I do track my activities on spark but some of my dvds have a mixture of exercises so its not really easy to track. Thanks for ur advice.

Amber- I have a Body Bugg that works pretty well. You can get them from Gold's Gym, 24 Hour Fitness, or online at www.bodybugg.com. I really like mine. I have been using it in conjunction with Sparkpeople and have lost 9.4 pounds already, and have 15.4 to go. :)

Just an idea. I believe they are on sale right now.

You can also track your fitness here on Sparkpeople. Just go to your start page, click on "Track Fitness". Before I got my Body Bugg, I tracked my food and fitness on here.

Happy Tuesday Diva's & Guys!!!!


Well as most of you know that yesterday was my first day of Boot Camp (BC) & it was a BLAST!!!!! I mean yes, it was high intensity but it was a lot of fun. I thought it would be harder or it would be in excrutiating pain this morning but the truth is I guess all of my workouts from Jillian Michael's helped make my legs & core stronger b/c we did a TON of Squats, Push-ups, Planks & Lunges!!! Yes, there were some moments when I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest emoticon Overall I think this BC is going to be my jumpstart that I need to give me that initial boost & hopefully break into the 180s!


So I appreciate all of you Diva’s who prayed for me to get into this BC program & I am not going to let you guys down. I am getting adjusted to really having to stick to a strict calorie plan & yes it’s difficult but I have to make the most of this. Luckily BC is only 3 days a week (for 6 weeks) but I still must exercise 3 other days on my own. So I am SUPER EXCITED to see how I will look at the end of the 6 weeks. I know it’s not long & I won’t be at my size 10 but I should be well on my to being a lot closer to my goal!!

What are Your Decisions???

You know I see the decisions that I have made over the past couple of years in my size 14 clothing, I see my decisions to eat poorly in my Diva rolls in my back & stomach. I feel my decisions when my thighs rub together, I see my decisions by not being able to wear my size 10 dresses anymore. We are our decisions, we see our decisions in the mirror and we see our decisions in our attitude!

I know realize that my decisions made prior have been the wrong ones but the great thing about decisions is that I have NOW made the decision to take back control over my life. I see my decisions now in exercising; I see my decisions in deciding to sign up for Boot Camp & now being a participant! I know will make the decision to Think before I Eat, we are taught Think before you Speak but never Think before you Eat.

So today & from here on out, I will see my positive decisions and the rewards from my decisions. I will see my decisions when I put on my size 10 dress that's been hanging on my door as a reminder. I will see my decisions in my size 10 jeans that have been collecting dust. I will see my decisions when I put back on my medium shirts!!!

I am extremely proud of myself today!!

Thusday was my daughters birthday, we didn't do anything for her just yet, except some small things. Bought her a large cupcake and she picked out some icecream and her and i had some. Well low and behold what icecream does she pick?? MOM'S FAVORITE, Ben and Jerry's Phish Food! AGH! So she asks, lets have some cake and icecream mommy. So i half the cup cake, take half and ONLY half (yeah!) and ONLY 1/2 cup (the recommended serving) of the ice cream and put it all away for the night!! YAH ME!! i did however go over on my calories, but its the only day this week so far, and if i control it the rest of the week til wednesday i will be fine, i know it!

I havent even taken a second glance at the icecream, which i usually eat the whole pint BY MYSELF, at all!! I'm SOOOOOOO happy!!

I hope you are having a great week!!! It's a new month & I am sure that November is a challenging month for most people b/c of office parties or treats that people are always bringing in or family gatherings. However, you have to make this November better than last November. You must really be open & honest with yourself. Where do you want to be when 2010 rolls in- Do you want to be 5 or 10 lbs lighter or 5 to 10 pounds heavier???? I am saying you must know your limits & you must know how to control your portions & really know what days it's okay for you to say "Yes, I will have that 1 slice of pecan pie or 1 slice of cake."


You know you can't just indulge every single event b/c you let your taste buds take over! So remember you still must put in the work to get the Results that you want!! Just because the holidays are here- that's no excuse to go haywire!!!

Hi! First time poster - trying to lose 15 by Christmas, 30 by March! Trying, trying, trying!!

For the headache sufferer - drink lots of water! A lot of times people get headaches from being dehydrated.

Kristy, your progress is amazing!

From about two years ago, I have lost about 33 lbs. Well, first I lost 35 lbs, then 10 or 12 lbs crept back on, but now I am back down to -33 my all time high. I don't know how much I am capable of losing. I think maybe I got comfortable at 170ish but really there is no reason I can't break through that and lose some more. I am looking for some more active Spark Teams so I can be more active myself!

Hello all! I'm new to the group! I realized today I don't need to be in the "20 somethings with 50-99 lbs to lose" group, because I officially have less than 50 to lose! I've lost over 60 on spark, and have another 46 or so 'til goal. Glad to finally be in this group!

Nice work on the 3 lbs!!!

Hello All...new here. First day. Doing three meals and three snacks in my calorie range. I've had a huge headache for the past 2 hours. I seem to get this when I start diets. Anyone else get them? Any tips to get rid of them?

Not really wanting to go back to work this week. Work is a source of stress right now, and so is wedding planning. Would love to just give both up and go live out in the boonies with my fiance and sell sticks. :( Candy isn't helping either.

Happy Friday Beautiful Diva's!!!

Boy am I happy that it is Friday!! This overall has been a great week, yes it started off rocky but its how the week ended that made it a success. I hope that all of you have pushed yourself as we come upon the last couple days of October. I ask that each of you truly reflect on how you want to go out this year. Do you want to go out with a BANG, losing weight or go out with gaining weight over the holidays & continuing your habits that are NOT allowing you to fully give all that you have on this journey? Go into 2010 with more weight to lose???

You are going to have to really sit down & talk with you! You need to decide are you going to let November & December take over your life due to the holidays or will YOU take Control & enjoy the times of the holidays & not let the Food Control you over the holidays. We have a lot to think about & you need to come up with a solid plan for the Holidays!

My day is off to wonderful start. I worked out yesterday for 65 minutes at gym plus a 30 minute walk at work. Then I woke up at 5:30 a.m. this morning for a great strength training workout. Last night I was thinking about who I am & had to put it on Spark today. I want all of you Sexy Diva's to think of yourself & really tell yourself who you are. Afterwards, I want you to write down at least 3 I AM (s) for YOU!

Happy Hump-Day Sexy Diva's!!!!


It's mid-week & I am back to work today & have a stack of work to do but I confident today will be a good day. I am going to manage my stress levels today with breathing or a walk outside or doing my crossword puzzle. I know that it is going to be a busy day & I am prepared. I only brought healthy snacks to nibble on. I watched the BL last night & realized that NO matter what- YOU HAVE TO KEEP ON GOING!!! There is no room here for- GIVING UP!! Giving up is NOT Allowed!


No matter what happens in Life, you have to find a way to keep on PUSHING. You must push thru the pain, the heartache, grief, the breakup, or the scale going up!! We must find the strength to keep on believing & that's not to say we won't have trying moments but it's how we push thru those moments that defines & builds our character.

I thank all of you for your support!

I know this journey is going to be a long one & I have to saddle up & get ready for the ride!!! I am ready to grab this weight loss journey by the horns & ride this journey out until the wheels fall off!!! I am NOT going to give into Defeat but I am going to WIN! I know that all of you FABULOUS Diva's have the fight in you also! Each day we take a step towards a healthier life, then we are conquering out battle.

No one said the test would be easy or that you pass the test your first time around but I be damn I stop at the grade of "F" for "Failing to keep Trying"!! So Diva's I say let's get prepared to take the test of our lives & we may be get that "A" the first time but as long as we keep on taking the daily tests, we will make it to our last & final test one day & make that "A" ~ Accomplishment, Achievement & Absolute Diligence!! Hi everyone. I'm sinking in a hole and can't seem to get out, and it's only the first week!! AGH!! I lost all of what i did wed-fri in the past 3 days!! I even feel like i gained!! I don't dare step on the scale. I'm an emotional eater, and can't get a grip on myself right now. I'm doing a self hypnosis at nights, but am only in the 4th day of 40, so i have a ways to go there too. We'll see. But i figured if i came on here it might put some sort of flame in my brain to stop. I hope it all comes out and i can get back on track!
