Hi all!

Rode my bike 17 miles today, 12 miles round trip to Maggie's and then to the gym and back, did a power yoga class at the gym this evening!

Great to see that everyone was moving and shaking today.
Today I did 30 minutes of T-Tapp and 10 minutes of abs/core. I'll probably skip Valentine's Day.

Hi all!
It was chilly today so I didn't go to the gym but I did keep my contract with myself and I did my ' Firm express videos' 3 1/2 of them , I did the abs , and pump it up video ( 10 minutes each work out , so 20 minutes total for that one, the cardio video ( ignite ) and the sculpt ( ignite ) both were 20 minutes each and 1/2 of the cardio / sculpt ( ignite ) so 10 minutes , these videos are supposed to be done on alternate days but that seemed silly, I wasn't tired and didn't feel 'worked' out after one of them so I kept doing them. I also went to Maggie's today and rode my bike 12 miles today. Was busy over there did 5 loads of laundry as well as helped with the babies, washed bottles and dishes and lots of other chores, so busy physically for 5 hours.

Hi all!
It was cold down here in South Florida. I rode my bike to the gym and did a spin class and then came home and did the abs workout for my firm express and the pump it up work out on the firm express dvds , next time will do both a couple or 3 times for a better workout. These came with 12 other dvds that I have signed a contract with myself to do , primarily on days I don't make it to the gym. Today I had energy and time when I came home from the gym so I got out the abs and pump it up dvd and tried it out , challenging and yet doable for me.
WTG everyone on your exercise.
I am very saddened by the death of Whitney Houston.

2 hours of heavy cleaning for my workout today. Trying very hard to get ready for my trip. Taking the family to Utah for my nieces wedding. The last time I was there was almost 6 years ago when we burried her sister. It's time for a happy family gathering.

Hi all,
No gym today, my beau rode his bike over from Jupiter to spend the day with me, so he got a 45- 50 mile ride in , in the wind . I did get a lot of cleaning last night but that isn't much exercise for me , but it is a good emotional exercise for me. WTG everyone on your exercise. I plan on getting to the gym in the morning for spin class.

I slept 11 hours last night, and I'm not sure now if the soreness I'm feeling is from inactivity or still from being ill. My temp is still up, so I'm going to take one more day off, though I may get on the Nordic Track for 10 slow minutes just to stretch myself out a bit.

More about T-Tapp (in the words of Teresa Tapp herself):

"While T-Tapp has some elements similar to Pilates and even yoga, I specifically designed the sequence of exercises in T-Tapp to provide a comprehensively non-impact, aerobic conditioning workout that activates muscles at various points, for maximum effectiveness. But with T-Tapp, your muscles don't bulk up. My approach helps you develop longer, leaner, denser muscles, and these muscles act like girdles to support and cinch in key areas. [...] With T-Tapp I add leverage isometrics. These are acupressure points to intensify the mind-to-muscle nerve transmission, which optimizes isometric activation. Using small added components -- even something as simple as changing the position of your thumb, or keeping your knee to little toe -- activates muscles better than if you are just thinking about it."

T-Tapp also improves lymphatic function and can help in various other ways (see website for more info). Many people seem to lose inches quickly, and almost everyone seems to report improved posture, which is huge for me! I was very tall as a child, so I spent many years stooped over, trying to be the same size as other kids. I stopped growing at 5'6" (at age 11), but I still have terrible posture. T-Tapp is helping to improve it.

Hi all, I went to Maggies yesterday got 12 miles on my bike, going again today riding another 12 miles on my bike . Laurie I do Ashtanga yoga it is an intense yoga you burn a ton of calories do tricep pushups to the floor and then back up into down dog , lots of salutations , my arms from my elbows to my shoulders hurt and my upper back was on fire for 2 days. I need to get back to doing that 3 times a week. I am getting soft all over I am just not getting enough exercise. my 12 mile a day bike ride is not much of a work out it is basically transportation. burns 300 calories but it doesn't do much of anything else. I am getting out of shape quickly.

15 minutes of T-Tapp floor work this evening.

Welcome, Twelvecookie! Ah, what is T-Tapp? It's hard to explain. It's a combination of many things, so you get lots of benefits without having to spend a lot of time. I find it not too strenuous, although some people do find it hard. It is challenging (because you have to really concentrate on form). No equipment is needed; however, the DVDs are pretty expensive. You can google T-Tapp and check out the T-Tapp website, which includes some free videos you can try (there are also T-Tapp short videos on YouTube). It seems kind of weird at first, but I'm loving it now!

HI everyone. I have been MIA for almost 2 weeks. Last week work was RIDICULOUS. This week I have been down with upper respiratory infection. I tend to pig out when I'm sick. Who am I kidding I tend to pig out all the time but, I have not gained any weight. YEAH. I have not exercised in nearly two weeks. I hope I remember how. LOL. Hi everyone! well it is a rainy day here and so far I haven't gotten out to the gym don't know if I will get out to get any exercise today. I didn't go to Maggie's she canceled for today. I did go to lunch with MJ, Phil and Mark today that was fun had been awhile since we all got together. I am a bit sore in my upper body from yoga yesterday but all is good.

I was expecting that Tamar, my friend Bob who had his knees replaced the beginning of December has lost almost 25 pounds he explained it this way, ' lost 2 pints of blood, lost appetite with pain and working my butt of trying to walk again ' WTG you Tamar! good luck and good work with the rehab! 30 minutes in the pool today. Up since 2:30 am, took a late nap yesterday (5 pm) & ended up sleeping till 9 & getting up long enough to get something to drink & going back to bed. Forcing myself to stay awake now so I can hopefully regulate myself.

Sunday I biked 20 miles and walked one.
today I did 20 minutes of upper body ST and 40 minutes on the ski machine.

Feeling a bit ... off. I might need to slow down just a bit, take a couple rest days. Don't want to make the mistake of overtraining.

HI all!
I feel very well today, I had what I call a 'spa day' today I went to the gym and did a yoga class, a pilates class, 12 minutes on the stairmaster ( hate that machine it is tough ) 32 minutes on the precore elliptical intervals with the cross ramp at 20/10 and resistance at 17/13 , then up to Ruth's spin class, rode my bike to and from the gym 5 miles. Then home and made myself a great lunch, stir fried veggies, red sweet peppers, broccoli , onion, yellow squash and chicken , put it in a healthy wrap , YUM!

Barely functioning today. Lack of sleep last night due to a fire in an apartment building behind us that started about 1 am. Luckily they all got out, but the building is a loss. Then get to church this morning & find out that one of the nicest people lost his battle with cancer this weekend.

I think I'll take the day & just rest. I'm going to nap here as soon as hubby gets back from store.

Biked 20 miles today. And walked one because I dropped the chain starting up a hill and it jammed so badly I couldn't get it loose. Fortunately, I wasn't far from the bike shop. I figured they'd just pop it out in some way I didn't know how to, but he actually had to take off the front gears to get it loose! So 18 miles biking, 1 walking to the bike shop, and 2 more back home.

We'll just call it cross-training!

Happy Super Bowl Day ;)
Yesterday I volunteered at the Run for Your Heart Race put on by our local Fleet Feet Store that raised money for the Martin Memorial Hospital Heart wing . We had over 300 runners small children to over 80 year olds. Lots of fun. I got home before 9am so went to the 9:30 spin class, In the afternoon I went to Walmart and got my meds and groceries and in the evening went to dinner with a new friend I met at the Y, Gail. Friday I did a Spin class and went to Maggie's in the afternoon and rode my bike 12 miles. Was a very busy week. I am feeling better got in 4 spin classes this week with my new spin shoes. my legs today are not sore at all. Guess what I even ran some yesterday , I got caught up in the excitement of being at the race and went up to the start of the race to take pictures with my friend Laurie and realized I was running beside her! LOL my knee didn't hurt later when she was bringing me home I said Laurie do you realize I was running beside you today, she looked at me and then said ' YOU STOP THAT' lol . my knee is bone on bone we don't want me to end up needing surgery any sooner than I need to .
But it was exciting. These supplements and herbs I am taking are really helping me feel better.
