I did it! I've been over 200 for a few years now, pretty much since going away to college. A lot of stress and life changes later and I was staring 220 in the face. I got myself down below 200 a couple years back but then I ballooned back up. When I started to get serious about losing weight a week before Thanksgiving, I was 214 (which turned into 218 a couple days after T-Day) and now when I weighed myself today I was 198.6! This is going to be my inspiration to keep at it! I've been spending a couple hours at the gym Mon-Thurs doing cardio and this will be the thing I need to push myself to keep going when I don't feel like I can do it anymore.

WOW! I'm a BREAKER!

Well just damn! The founder of break 200 let down and gained over two years since breaking 200. Not to worry tho. I'm four days into my winning ways and should see breaking 200 by March 15th. It will coinside with my 61 years of marriage to a wonderful woman. Looking at 82 years old in February. Breaking 200 will be the best gift received.

Can't believe I finally slipped below 200! It's been several years. And the best part is I don't have the "I-broke-200" urge to self-sabotage as I have in the past. Used to want to celebrate by eating a nice fattening meal and it would be the beginning of a slippery slope. A lower calorie diet did it for me. Eating around 1000 calories a day, losing about 1 pound a week. I was always told I wasn't losing weight because I was "eating too little". Evidently not. We are all individuals and one size fit all diets don't really work.

Congratulations to everyone who has also broke 200 lbs. It's a great feeling, isn't it?

A later comer to this thread, i would still like to throw in my congratulations to the breakers! A month or two ago my sister broke 200 after decades above sometimes WAY above. It was hard on and for her to do. She fought it actually. She now supports my doing so and knows that Sparkpeople is helping me on my way.

Congrats on your Breakthroughs! keep on going and keep on making it. BTW thanks for the tickers to show the continued sucess-- i think i will change my ticker once i break 200.

I didn't even know this group existed! I was at 223 (230 at my heaviest) when I started this journey. I had a lot of ups and downs but couldn't break 200. After restructuring my entire life & habits to be healthier I finally started making progress. Just 3 weeks ago I broke the 200 line and I haven't gone back! I'm now at 196! I keep getting on the scale and giggling. I'm weighing myself 2-3 times a day. It's like I'm dreaming. You'd think that the 20+ pounds I'd lost before would matter, but no it was that ONE pound that put me from 200.8 to 199.8 that had me celebrating. It's silly that a number could have such effect, but I've been over 200 lbs (with one small exception) for more than 10 years! And now my weight starts with a ONE! It is ONEDURFUL!

It took me 3 years of trying and learning, but finally, one day it all clicked and got easier. All my habits are thin ones and the weight slides off slowly, but constantly and EASILY. All my thin habits feel normal now!

To all my sisters in TWO-dom. You WILL make it! Just keep trying! And it is great on this side of the line! Put down that fork, pick up those knees and march in here! There is plenty of room at this party and I can't wait until all of you join me here!

I couldn't have done any of this without all of you wonderful Spark people!

PS I get to go to the Dr. today and slide that little 150 lb weight and NOT the 200 lb one!

The only way to loose this game is to QUIT!

Woohooo! I'm FINALLY a breaker! Woke up this morning to seeing 199.2lbs on the scale! It's felt like I've been a few pounds away for the past 2 weeks, just stuck, and then I switched up my routine yesterday and did a P90X Kenpo workout instead of running which I was doing the past couple weeks. I think that really helps when you hit a plateau. Here's to NEVER letting my weight get to the 200's again! I like ONEderland and I'm staying here, FOR LIFE! :) Good luck to everyone else out there who is close, just keep up the momentum, you will see it if you just keep it up!
emoticon

IRISHBEANERGAL - Great job, and just keep going, I know a plateau can break your momentum and motivation, but you can't let it, just continue and one day you will see a big drop to make up for the plateauing!

really really really working hard to break into Onderland by my son's high school graduation (June 19th).

Have been on a plateau for 6 weeks at 224... but I just have a good feeling about this week - logged in a LOT of exercise and been so so so good on my eating and water...

Probably won't break 200 by my goal (June 19) but I am going to get just as close as I can

Keep your fingers crossed! And keep moving forward all...

Last week - I did it! I broke 200 after about 3 years of trying on and off.

I'm joining a Biggest Loser Contest with my turbo kick class and hopefully that will give me some major motivation to keep going into the new year!

I think I might have actually done it. For the last three days I have stayed under 200 in the morning when I measure. Yippie!

I broke for two days then gained a few back. I am back on my way down, so it shouldn't be much longer before I'm down for good. Congrats to everyone else who has gone before!
