Congrats on your guys' success. 100+ pounds is amazing!!

Marianne..I DEFINITELY know first hand how important fixing your self-esteem is in order to complete ANY of your goals..if you ever want to talk about it, let me know. I love helping people with their self-esteem because I had such terrible issues with it prior to SP :)

My name is Marianne and I wanted to introduce myself and try to get some buddies online. I really have no support at home so it is me, myself and I. Well, my daughter does keep me on my toes asking me if I have to workout when I try to skip. And she's 5 so I must be showing her some importance! Back in the fall of 2008-2009 I had lost 70 lbs and now I have gained back 20. I have hit the dreaded 200 number (+ a few) again and I hate it. A lot happened to gain again but really it was my excuses, so I am saying that I am out of them because this is it! I am going to eat healthy, keep working out regularly and the weight will eventually come off. I need to work on my self image because self esteem and I have really never met. By christmas time I would like to be feeling pretty or atleast liking one body part. Sounds like a small goal but to me it is quite large. Can't wait to chat with some members!

Hey guys! I've been a member on this team for a little while and I'm trying to get more active in my teams :). I've lost almost 70 pounds of fat since joining SP in March 2010 and devote a lot of my time to coaching other people to reach their weight loss/healthy living goals. SP completely changed my life and I try to pay back the community as much as I can. My obsession for SP is crazy..haha, I'm always trying to spread the Spark whenever I can. I was just asked to be a SparkLeader for SP's new eMeeting feature (which is super cool!) and I'm so excited to get started with that. I love helping people get motivated and achieve their goals! I always thought the done team was one of the most supportive teams :). Glad to be more active in here!

Hello everyone, my name is Krystina. I've been on SP off and on for awhile, this is my first post, and I really want to stick with it this time. I have a lot of weight to lose to get to a healthy happy size. My biggest problem is motivation, I get so pumped up to change and work hard and a week later I end up back on the couch. I recently had a miscarriage due to my weight so I truly need a change so that my husband and I can start our family, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to get the little extra push I need here. I look forward to meeting all of you and starting this journey on the right foot. cheers :)

I'm not exactly new but I may as well be.. I kinda took some me time and really just am now getting back into things. I need to get back on track with my health as I have had more than my fair share of health issues recently so I would like to just say thank you for having this group :)

We have to know that sometimes people will let us down. Caring about others and loving others takes risk and probably more than we have in us most of the time. But I think the more we put out there, we'll have something returned greater than we could have imagined.

Hi everyone,

My name is Carrie and I am here to stay. I have been on diets since I was 16, have tried them all, succeeded and then fell right back into my old routine. I realized that over the last 18 years of marriage I have put on 10 lbs a years. Wow! Now I am okay with not being the 100 lb bride my husband married but I am not okay being the 280 wife he has now.

I lost myself somewhere along the way and am determined to find myself again.

A little about me. I am married with a beautiful 15 year old son. He is the love of my life and the bane of my existence all rolled into one. He is a great kid but as my sister loves to say "your so 15!" emoticon I am currently a stay at home mom but hope to change that as well this year.

My goal for this week is to drink a gallon of water, track every bite, and move my rear! I hope to get to know everyone and would love the support and encouragement because this is gonna be a long ride!

Hey Everyone! I'm trying this again. I joined this team awhile back, but I've never been truly active on this team or Spark People. I have had the bad habit of letting life's ups and downs stop me from continuing with what I believe to be healthy behaviors (like joining Spark People and this team). I am trying to rededicate myself to my health and my weight loss and not let life's problems stop me. They may slow me down a little, but I am trying to get back on the horse so to speak. I look forward to taking a more active role in my health and supporting my teammates while they do the same, I look forward to getting to know all of you.

There are lots of ways to get information and support at SP and in the DONE BEING The Fat Girl Team! emoticon

I agree that you should start with small goals that you can manage. Move from success to success. emoticon

VintageMiss you are not alone on this journey. That is one of the best things about SP. There is always someone to listen, offer suggestions or just lend a hand during the hard parts of the journey. We are all stronger when we are in this together. For right now, I'd suggest you focus on the small goals. Drinking water, making healthy choices and moving more. Celebrate those choices and the next goal of 10 pounds will seem easier. You can do this.

Hi. My name is Bailey. I'm 22 years old and I live in Iowa. I am currently making plans to go back to college to finish off my degree.
I haven't always been the fat girl. My major weight gain started when I was first going through puberty. At the age of eight, I was already developing breasts. I was THE FIRST girl in my age group in school to develop. Imagine being in 3rd grade and already having (small, but still there) breasts. I was ostracized for being different. This also came at a time when my mom was going back to school (so she already had a lot on her plate and, I'm not exaggerating, told me she didn't have time to deal with my stuff, along with her relying a lot on me for help around the house because boys shouldn't be bothered with doing housework, also a quote from my mother) and my only siblings, two brothers, decided it wasn't cool to be seen playing in public with their only sister. So basically, I had no one that I could lean on (I have never been close to my father, plus he was also in the army at this point).
That was the start of my emotional eating problems. And my emotional eating had continued until January of this year, when I stepped on the scale for the first time in at least 3 years and realized I weighed just 3 pounds short of 400 lbs. I started cutting back on my emotional eating and in Mid June I started sparkpeople.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Becky, I am 19 and I am DONE being the fat girl. :)

My goals are to take it 10 lbs at a time and work my way there, the ultimate goal being 135 pounds which means a 50 pound loss.

Fingers crossed!

I've just joined this team a few days ago and I love it already. I will be very busy this month so I won't be on SP as much but once I restart my exercise/eating right religiously in August, this is the team that I need. Glad I found you guys.

Hey Done Girls!! My name is Crystal, I'm 26 and live with my fiance in central Florida. I am so happy that I have been able to find the one even when deep down I hadn't found myself. I have been overweight since I was 5 yrs old after I had was molested by a (now removed) family member. I really do believe my weight gain started as a result of that event, my parents don't think so. They have pushed me from an early age to get healthier, I remember having slim fast for lunch in 6th grade. The problem was the more my parents pushed the harder it was for me to lose...I rebelled and hid my eating from them. Sigh...long story short I am now putting an end to this struggle. It's not only about me anymore. I want to build a family and live a long happy life with them. So here I am. I know in my gut that this time is it. I'm going to finally win and not let the past hurt anymore. I am looking forward to meeting more awesome people and I've heard such great things about the Done Girls. Thank you for building such a strong community to help us all win this struggle!

Hello all! I'm new to this team, although I have a few friends here. I have been looking for a fun and ACTIVE team that sticks together and I think I've found it here!

My name is Neva (pronounced knee-va, lol) and I'm turning 25...tomorrow...lol. I live in sunny-SUPER-HOT Southern California. I am a full time student at a community college trying to transfer to CalState Fullerton and major in Communicative Disorders in hopes to become a Speech Pathologist. I have a stunningly beautiful and bright 3 year old daughter, and a husband who has been my biggest (and almost only) support through this journey.

So far, I have lost 42lbs, the most that I have EVER lost in my life (probably in total, lol). I am so proud of how far I've come and am excited to continue my journey however far it needs to go.

I'm looking to find a team that I can call "friends" instead of a "group", and I am always here to help support and give advice when I can (which, this summer has been less than I would like, Summer classes are brutal! lol)

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and to be a DONE girl!

My name is Averyl and I am DONE being the Fat Girl. (Group: Hi, Averyl!) I first joined Sparkpeople in 2006 and was very active, then went away for awhile. And now I'm back. I'm not sure what made me go away or what made me come back, except that in between I have seen a change in myself. Between leaving and coming back, here's what has changed:

emoticon I now eat breakfast on a regular basis. Every day. Which is HUGE for me.
emoticon I have discovered I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, which means I am insulin resistant, so I have gone from eating lots of sugar every day to eating very little sugar. And even that is in some form that is low on the glycemic index.
emoticon I kicked diet soda to the curb. Now, I drink mainly water or iced tea sweetened with stevia. And -- ok -- sometimes some wine.
emoticon I get up in the morning and exercise before work. And I am NOT a morning person, but I really like the way it gets me going for the day.
emoticon I have a lot more confidence than I did four years ago.

This time around, I also feel like I am floundering on the site more. I don't yet feel like I have found my niche, but I really like this team. I joined the challenged a little late, but am looking forward to working on it nevertheless!

Hi everyone! I'm Sue and I live in California. I am new to the team but not to Sparkpeople. I first joined in 2008 and was successful but unfortunately I didn't stay on the journey to the finish. I came back at the end of last year and have struggled until recently with consistency. I have some health issues that get in the way but now I am determined to follow this healthy journey for life. I am so glad I ran across this team. I have been quietly lurking for a while but I am ready to make a commitment. You have such a supportive way of thinking and I am committed to remain positive about this journey. I'm excited to be here.

Hi Everyone!!! It's a chilly day here in Brisbane, Australia and I am back on spark for the first time in many many months!!! I am looking forward to getting to know you all on your journey and getting support from you as well as I start mine.

I first started on spark in January 2010 and had great success but alas, did not reach my ultimate goal (only a few kilos off) and I lost my mojo and got complacent. I came back at the end of last year for a time but I just didn't stick with things. I have a bunch of annoying health issues which get in the way but I am determined to focus and achieve my goals this time! I've just written a new blog entry giving the run down if you want to have a read :)

I braved the scales this morning and was shocked and not shocked at the same time. :) My body has been telling me in so many different ways that it has not been happy with its expanding size and finally, my brain has caught up!!

So here I am DAY ONE. Just about to go out for a baby shower morning tea for my sister in law.... the first test!! hehe.

let's keep in touch!

Annie :)

I'm not at all new to SP nor am I new to the Done Girls team. It seems like I'm partially done. Ive joined a few times only to get aggravated at self and quit teams, dieting, ways of nutrition, etc... Yet here I am again today. I like this team cause it seems to be up2date, not just a few stragglers here and there, and right now in my Life and my WL journey I can use a constant companion! My Latest Blog tells everything about me. Please come over and read and get to know me as I try and get to know many of you here! emoticon

Hi everyone! I'm Susan, I'm 44 years old and I live in NE Italy with my Italian husband and our 8 year old son. I have always been at least "chubby" all my life except for some very brief periods in adulthood when I was slim and another, really dark period when I weighed about 200 lbs.
I am now about 180 and am *SO TIRED* of being the Family Fatty (my ILs are all thin) along with my DH.
My mother had a heart attack a year and a half ago, she's another champion life-long yo-yo dieter, and I really don't want to end up there either!
This looks like a great and fun team and I'm glad to be here!

Hey Guys,

I'm pretty new to sparkpeople, but a veteran at dieting attempts. I am about to be 19 and I have struggled with weight for my whole life (I was even huge being born 10lbs 12oz). I was a pudgy kid and then my weight really jumped in middle school when I wore a back brace that really restricted my activity. I got down to my lowest weight my senior year of HS, but gained the notorious Freshman 15 after a year of college.

I loved the name of this group and I could relate to the sentiment immediately. I want so much to stop looking in the mirror critically and find the beauty in my body no matter what the weight. I've been dealt both a very petite frame and a slow metabolism, and I am hoping spark people and teams like this will be just the boost I need to help me achieve my goals :)

Hello, been on Sparkpeople for almost two weeks. I love the name of this team. It was just calling to me....because I am so DONE! I am done using my weight as an excuse. Done, done, done. I am the mother of a four year old girl so it is a priority to get myself fit so I can be a momma who is healthy, active, and around for a long time.

Hi, my name is Samantha. I have been trying to lose weight for sometime now, but I have been unsuccessful. This time around, though, I am trying even harder. I just really need support!

Hello All! My name's Lindsey, I hail from the beautiful, green (if not often wet) state of Washington. I've been a FAT GIRL all my life, I can't remember the last time I was comfortable in my own clothes and skin, and I am DONE with feeling this way.

I'm DONE hating what I see in the mirror
I'm DONE talking negatively to and about myself
I'm DONE making excuses for why I can't workout and eat better
I'm DONE giving into temptations that only hold me back frm my goals
I'm DONE being unhealthy and treating my body like cr@pola.

I weighed 250 at my heaviest and I've been hovering around 215 for quite sometime now. No matter how many times I've tried to lose weight, I've not been able to break through the 200lb wall, but today I'm determined to make it happen this time around. I'm DONE with weighing over 200lbs. I look forward to getting to know all of you better and encouraging each other through our journeys, I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend!

Welcome new Done Girls:

Callie, Tammy, Theresa, Jenn, Gail!

glad you've joined us!

You are worth having a healthy body!

This is a lifestyle change to be healthy, not a diet and not a sprint to get there.. one day at a time, one pound at a time.. as long as it takes, starting again as often as possible.
