Slow and steady wins the race. I LIKE that. It is so true.
When I don't compare my fitness minutes and/or abilities to someone else, and I just do what I can do, I am less likely to be disappointed in myself.
When I walk on my own, I don't cover the mileage that Leslie Sansone does in her DVDs; but that is no matter. I do both, but never too much at a time. I have to work up to it. For me, it's my feet that get too sore to do too much at a time. But, I don't let that stop me altogether. I just take it a lil slower.

I also did Leslie 10 years ago, I was 47 then, I did the walks starting very slow, 1/2 mile at first then to 1 mile and added till I got to 3 miles at a time. When I stopped I was up to 3 miles in morning and 2 at night. Now at 57, I am starting once again. I have got myself up to 2 miles in morning now and then I do a 15 min walk durning my 3 breaks at work. "although my fit bit doesn't match what the walking with Leslie says, I just do her videos, I strive for 5 miles a day, but break it up over 4 sections a day." Just take your time, we are not in a race. We are just trying to get fit. You Can do it.

Will It be easy? no Worth It? Absolutely!!! Believe that you can do it and you will do it!

Thanks! I've done it before, but it's been a little harder this time because of health issues. I just have to remember that slow and steady wins the race emoticon , and to get back onto the horse every time I fall off of it! emoticon

Hi everyone!

I am over 40 and extremely out of shape. In the past I've always been able to get aerobically fit pretty quickly when I stuck to my program (which usually included Leslie's Walk Away The Pounds), but these days my heart is just not responding like it used to, and other aches and pains contribute to curtail the length and intensity of my exercise sessions.

I decided to join the January 2017 Miles Challenge for accountability, though I don't expect my miles numbers to be very impressive at first. I'm aiming to work out regularly for heart health, and eventually I hope to be able to do three miles in a row again. :)
