I am a new member today although I have been a SP member since 2011. I like the idea of losing the love handles.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4.

Hi everyone,
I stumbled upon this team via another members (ANTHONY.MAUGHAN) SP page.
I just LOVED the title of this team..and believe me, I'm all for getting 'waisted' over the course of this coming year.

I have a very ummm 'thick' waist, in face, most of my 'fluff' is around my waist, belly area and my upper arms.
My focus is on strength training primarily, with cardio being secondary to that...I know some of you may think I have that 'backwards' but because of the my particular 'way of eating', focusing on strength/resistance training will be more beneficial to me in the long run..

I've already lost 2 inches off my waist, and 1 inch off my belly since January 1st....but I have many many more to go.

Looking forward to being a team player and getting 'waisted' with you all...

Hi. Not new to SP, back again for another try (umpteenth time is the charm, I hope!). I have small children, work a desk job, and never make myself a priority. Before I realized it I had almost doubled in size ( went from 130 to 206) in what seems like no time (6 years). Want to loose weight and be healthy for myself and my family.

Hello. My name is Susan and I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is extremely cold here during the winters which have been known to stick around for months and months. After delivering flyers for 20+ years while raising my daughter, I have finally quit that job because it was so very hard on me in the winter. Daughter moved out April 2016. Since quitting my job and no longer seeing myself as a 'hands on' mother I am having to re-invent myself. I have done far too much sitting over the past month and have managed to climb from 117 to 133 pounds. To some that may not seem like a lot but on my smaller frame I really notice the difference. Clothes are tight. More difficulty breathing and bending over to tie up my footwear. I seem to have lost my motivation to move, to eat healthy. Looking for support and encouragement and more than willing to provide same.

Hi! I am a homemaker & have 3 children. 1 son is in the Army, 1 son is in the Air Force & a daughter who is 10 (almost 11). I've been married for 20 years & he's a pretty good guy, so I think I'll keep him around;) I love to go hiking through the woods, especially with my daughter. We have a wooden box at home that we call our 'Nature's Treasure Box' & we put fun finds in it from our walks. I LOVE to read & would be lost without my Kindle. My daughter & I like to watch 'You Tube' videos on learning to draw different things & try them. We have a chocolate lab, 2 cats & 2 rabbits, a turtle & some fish. We live way out in the country & my whole family is trying to live healthier, lose weight & become more active. Whew! I think that's it. Ha!

Hi!! Thanks for the invite to the team. My name is Michelle. I am 48 years old. I am married and have a special needs 15 year old daughter. My Dad just moved in with us in November. I also help take care of my Mom and my Father-in-law. So as you can see I spend a lot of time taking care of others. I have learned that I have to take care of myself first.

I have a lot of health issues. Most with my stomach (LOL). I have chronic pancreatitis..developed diabetes after years of pancreatitis episodes. I also have high cholesterol, gastroparesis, gastritis, ulcers and IBS. Most of my stomach issues are exasperated by stress. So I am just a mess, but I am working on retaining my health. My goal is to reach a healthy weight before I turn 50 (July 29, 2018)

I look forward to getting to know everyone and becoming an active member of the team.

I have been looking for a team to motivate me to "Get My Act Together"! I saw this one and thought "Ya - I need to loose the belly fat"!

I'm Dee. I live in Central New York. The land of cold, snow, wind, ice and limited sun. I've been at a stand still (gaining & losing the same 10 pounds) for the past few years. When I am signing on to Sparkpeople.com, participating and keeping a food log I seem to do OK. My problem is STICKING TO IT. "IT" being eating healthy and exercising.

I'm not good with structured challenges where I have to record so many points for exercise, or eating or drinking water. I've tried those teams and I've just gotten frustrated and dropped out. I'm just looking for support and hopefully giving support. So let's see where we can go and what we can loose in 2017!

Dee

Thank you for inviting me to your team. I am struggling with belly fat. I want to loose 30 lbs by July. My biggest problems is the hours I am working, I find it hard to exercise when I am in an office 12 hours of the day. Then I go home and eat a late dinner which isn't the best for weight loss. Hopefully this group will give me some inspiration to get rid of this extra 30 lbs.

Thank you for the invite. Loosing the belly fat was the original goal, but getting healthy is first and foremost.

Glad to be here and will post more as I go through.

Hugs to all

Hello, Everyone,

My name is Allison and I am a returning SP user. I've created a new account, though, because I wanted to start fresh.

I turn 53 next month, am at my heaviest, though I feel like I have better tools to eat better and live a healthier lifestyle. I started back to work at the beginning of 2016 and just stopped all efforts at trying to eat well and move more. Resulting in gaining the 20+ pounds I'd lost in 2015 plus some, but isn't that the way it goes?

And since it is the way it goes, what is also the way it goes is that I can manage this and take steps to get back where I want to be. My biggest challenge now is that I am working full-time with an hour drive one way to work each day. I get up between 4:30 - 5 AM, leave at 7 and don't get home until after 6 each night, and I am TIRED. I also have some rather involved commitments through my church and in a ladies Bible study, have two horses that need to be cared for and a husband, grown children and grandchildren who I enjoy committing my time to.

Fortunately, I work in a cute little town with sidewalks so there is nothing, but the weather occasionally, that would keep me from putting my shoes on and walking for lunch. That is my goal for now - walking at lunch. I'm also going to have to really focus on taking the opportunities to move, i.e., parking further from a store, taking the stairs, etc., as I have what could be considered a sedentary job, plus the 2 hours plus of driving I do each day.

But I am excited to do this and am ready to get started.

Hi, my name is Mary, and I am here to lose a few pounds, would love 7 off of me, but would be content with 5 if I can keep it off, my problem is I can't take it off anymore, so 2117 it s going to happen, I feel much better when I am around 127.

Hi. I am not new to Spark but new to the team. I lost weight in the past but regained it within the last year. I know their is no magic just consistent healthy habits. Starting over seems harder than the first time. But I'm going to take it one day at a time for the best results.
