I want to let everyone know that you can find a ton of Leslie Sansone walking dvd's at Ross Dress for Less. (If you have one.) When I found out they were sold there for dirt cheap I went hog wild! lol And they have other workouts there such as The Firm, etc.

I got my walking dvd's starting from $5 on up. I don't think I ever paid over $10 for a dvd at Ross.

I'm new here and am glad I found this team. I have:

Walk Slim - 4 Fast Miles with the bonus 1 Mile Jog DVD
Walk Strong and use 5lb weights
Walk and Kick
You Can Do Abs using the stability ball

I love the first three.

I fell off the stability ball the first time I used this one and hit my head & shoulder on the hardwood floor. Was sore for 3 days and had a knot on my head. I haven't tried it again. I realized that if something had happened to me, no one would realize it until I didn't show up for work the next day.

I'm interested to know how everyone tracks these here. Any help would be appreciated.

I only have the 5-day fit walk, and I've really enjoyed the variety. It keeps me going when I don't know what's next.

But I was wondering how do we categorize the exercises here on the fitness tracker... there's a 1 mile, 2 mile, 2 mile high calorie, walk and kick (kick boxing)... I'd like to give myself credit for the calories burned, but not over shoot it.. and I can't really afford to buy one of those expensive calorie burner watch thingies.

Thanks,
-t

Hi everybody,
has anyone tried the Burn Body Fat workouts with the weight cuffs?
I have quite a few of Leslie's firming DVDs and was wondering if that one is actually 'worth' it for me to buy since I don't really need the weights (I'm using my 3 lbs DBs) yet at the same time I'm curious about her workouts geared towards the upper body/arms...

Im waiting on a new one a 5 mile one. I looked at the walk now with the new girl but I dont have the extra 10 to blow right now. I know it will be a good investment for my collection but cant afford it. I snuck in and bought the 5 mile one from Walmart.com for 6 something.

Yes---I bought the Walk Now with that young girl---and I've done it once. Yes, it is good. It's a brisk, fast-paced workout--(at least it was to me. It's a change of pace if you've been doing Leslie for awhile--not only are there "fresh" faces to walk with, but this young lady uses Leslie's 4 basic moves but she adds a little "flavor" to them. It's nice to be able to mix it up a bit. And you will know that you got your heart rate where it needed to be!!!

All of these options! Its so confusing to be with which to start with and with all of the different options that are the same amount of miles. For example there being mulitple 3 mile videos...how should I know which to start with and for how long to do it? Any advice?

Carm thanks for the update. I just read where you posted on the 5k with a twist. I hadnt done it yet. I will have to check it out. I did the 2mile big burn.

as for logging them I usually look at the amount of the minutes of each mile 10, 12 or 15. look at the calories each would burn. then I look at low impact for the 15 minute mile cal burns. for the 10 and 12 min ones I look at the high impact aerobics and hit an average number for the calories burned.

I usually log them in as walking a 15minute mile. And then I input the amount of minutes. Should I use the low-impact aerobics instead?

I got so lucky, I found 6 of Leslie's vhs tapes at a second hand store, they weren't even opened yet, still had the cellophane wrap on them and I paid 1 dollar for each one!!!
I've been using them since then but wasn't sure about how to log them in,
Good idea CMFARRA I will log them in as low impact aerobics, too!! update...
I found another vhs tape the 3 mile super fat burning, so I do that one than I do the 2 mile heart healthy walk! WOOHOO that gets me sweating and my heart rate going!

Wow-my daughter and I just did the 5 mile tape. I got it for Mother's day and we were just going to see how many miles we could do. We have been doing the tapes for about 6 weeks now. I really like doing them and this new one is sooo cool. I love the 2 minute boost at the end of each mile. I think we will do the whole tape at least once a week and do many 2 miles every day or so. We have dogs and now that the weather is nice we are going for walks outside. I really love the walking and know this is so good for our bodies, hearts, mind, and souls. I really love that I walk with my youngest daughter. Life is good-be healthy.

Leslie tends to get all your body parts involved. When I log it for my cardio I usually log it as low impact aerobics.

Thanks for all you hard work-I just ordered some from Amazon (specially priced!). I've been doing the two mile and one mile & I think I'm ready to move on. They are pretty new 2007 I think. I wonder if WATP needs to be supplemented by anything else? Is there success with just WATP? I hope so-love her dvds. emoticon

Hello and welcome!
Leslie's dvd's are great! You can find them on Amazon or at walmart. They run around $15 - $20, normal price but right now on Amazon many of them are less than $10. You can probably rent them from your local video store as well. If you have cable with OnDemand you can find her there as well, for free. Just go to Sports & Fitness, then Exercise TV, then Start Walking. She's great because she has 1, 2, 3, and more mile walks. And it's not just walking. She gets the upper body involved as well and they can all be adjusted for the beginner or someone who needs more resistance. If you go to www.exercisetv.tv you can find them.. The price seems to be a bit higher on that site but she's donating proceeds to the American Heart Assoc from those sales. Good luck and keep walking!

I love Leslie’s DVD’s. Tonight I did her new Punch up your Walk and I really like it, but to be honest I was hoping for a little bit more of an advanced. workout for 4 miles. It went by really fast, but I got a good sweat. She is really good at explaining the moves. This is a plus. It also has an additional bonus lower body workout which is really good. I usually use the Firms weights when I do Leslie's workouts, but I think that I like the weight gloves better (although not as heavy) as they are positioned above/on top of the hands.

Most importantly, I like Leslie as a coach in these videos, I can focus more and she is just the most positive lady! She makes working out fun!

I love Leslie's new DVD that just came out. Walk at Home.com, in collaboration with the American Heart Association’s Start! Walking program and Exercise TV brings you Start! Walking at Home. The 3 mile walk is terrific! It's 45 minutes and a great workout..........what I found though after ordering through the Exercise tv website, was that by doing a google search for "exercise tv discount coupon" was that it would have been a couple dollar discount. Oh well, I'm just happy to have the new DVD.

I just found this team, and I am SO excited!! I just did a workout of hers yesterday and today!! I have the 5 day walk or something. I don't have the box right in front of me, sorry! It has the Get Up and Walk, which is about 20 mins. Then the Brisk 2 mile walk, the 30 minute walk, walk and kick, and the Power Mile. I have done all of them but the Power Mile. I was just thinking today how I need to try that one.

I just read in a magazine that her workouts burn from 110 to 400 cals per workout. It wasn't specific to which workouts tho.

Has anyone else had this problem? I bought the "express 2 complete workouts w/ resistance band"--supposed to be a 3 mile advanced and a 4 mile super challenge on one cd, but there's only the three-mile on there. I'm disappointed. It's a 2007 release, so not even that old!

I usually track them for 15 min./ mile as well. It is aerobics so I have checked and the calorie burn is pretty much the same.

Hello everyone. I've not been good about getting out here, but am trying hard to come back. Looking forward to April challenges to try and get myself back in gear.

How do you all post your minutes with Leslie's tapes? I did the Fast and Firm 4 Really BIG Miles this morning but her tapes are not part of cardio, so I just entered a 15 minute mile for the time the DVD took from start to finish. Just not sure if this is correct or not. Is there a resource for her DVD's and how to post the time?

Thanks!
Mary

I will succeed. The only way I will fail is if I don't try.

Mommygoround,
I'm pretty new here, too, but am loving walking with Leslie...in fact, I'm just about to do the "Walk Strong" online. I over-ate today so feel I must do something to work it off.

I did "4 Fast Miles" this AM, but think I'd better add this short (but thorough!) workout before bedtime.

I'm SOOOOOO inspired by your testimony about losing NINETY POUNDS....WOW!!! I have 70 to go, and it just seems sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow. But you inspire me to persevere!

Thanks for joining us. I'll be watching for more from you!

Hello, Hello! I'm new here and am so excited to find fellow Leslie walkers!!! I walk with Leslie 6-7 days a week and have done so for about 5 years now. I lost 90 pounds walking with her! I have to tell you that she is coming out with a new series that will be in select Target stores beginning April 5. I was chosen to test 3 of the 6. They all come with boosters and are awesome! I already have around 30 of her tapes and DVD's. I wasn't sure how she would be able to mix things up enough to make them new, but she did. It is amazing how the little moves she adds or boosts make such a big difference. I walk 3-5 miles a day, and haven't had muscle soreness in a while. But I do now:~) It's a good thing! I hope you will have a chance to check them out. They really are great workouts! I'm going for the other three as soon as they come out:~)

I'm going to have to look for that one, God'sNewestAngel. My all time favorite is her "Walk and Kick," four intervals each of walking and kick boxing.

Still my all time favorite is one of her older workouts called "stepping with walk aerobics." It's a step workout. I love step-aerobics and it's the only one she has that uses a step.

I just bought "Walk Away Your Waistline" (with the walk belt) and "Walk Away Your Hips & Thighs" (with the fit cuff) at Walmart this weekend. I haven't had a chance to try them, yet, but I'll probably do the waist one in the morning.

Just did 5K WITH A TWIST:

I'm not 100% sold on this video yet. It's just Leslie walking alone in her studio. It's 3.1 miles and has a little boosted walking/jogging in it. No weights or other boosters. I've only done it once, so maybe it will grow on me????
