It was at the time. But it was a lump on the head that sent me to the ER. The black eye appeared in full the next day, which was unexpected to me. Fortunately, my daughter was able to give me the medical reasons and reassure me that it was beneficial to have the blood drain quickly!

Oh dear! That looks painful. Take good care of yourself. I've lived in some apartments (with such compact kitchens) that I've worried about the tripping potential. Luckily, we now are in a place where the dog dishes are in another room. (One less thing to worry about.)

Thanks. Right now he's not letting me near the kitchen. At least until I can stand without pain again. Then I hope I'll be able to take some of the burden away from him. Even though I said I could do it all sitting at the kitchen table (as long as I can have the TV on) he's too protective of me. It's the 2nd "major" accident recently. Neither of them were just falls. Both of them were caused by something on the floor! The last one caused a lump on my head and a shiner that looked like it was painted on! (Not sure that the picture will show up, but I tried)

emoticon CHARNA! I'm so glad you've joined the team. There are several recipes & recipe links, throughout the new and old msg threads. If you find a good recipe link, plz feel free to share! I just recently picked up an inexpensive Fix It And Forget It slow cooker ckbk, so am trying it out. I agree, it's difficult to come up with new & interesting meals. I'm always searching.

Hi,

My name is Vicki and I'm new to this forum. I'm originally from NY, but have lived in NC for 12 years now. We're extremely pleased with our decision to relocate, other than the grandchildren (and great grand children) are so far away.

My husband has done all the cooking for about 45 years, but it's starting to be a challenge to him to think up new and interesting meals on a low-carb (not NO carb) diet, so we bought a Crock Pot to make it easy for ME to do some of the winter cooking. Hopefully, I'll get some good ideas here.

Hi, I am new, single, live alone & bought a "CROCKPOT" brand 7 quart slow cooker December 26,2018 for $20.00. They have lots of free recipes online for it. I thought it would help on days I am out late to come home to a healthy meal.

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.
