Hi; I'm Susan and my pooch is Mattie who just turned 3. We purchased Mattie when she was a year old. She is an English Cocker who was bought as a show dog, however, her bite was off so the original owner sold her to us. She is the sweetest thing! The only problem would be that she is a total mooch; a real foodie! Mattie was started out on raw food and we were thrilled as my husband and I had actually decided that with our next dog we would go raw.
I have done a lot of reading on how to feed raw, but find there are so many differing opinions out there and find it so confusing. I worry that she won't get the nutrients she requires, so so far I have relied on pet store raw foods (a very good private pet store). I came across Dr. Becker, a homeopathic veterinarian on Mercola and have bought some of her supplements to add to the food.
I do sometimes give Mattie deer, liver, salmon, tuna, eggs, chicken (whatever I have on hand). I'm 2 years into this, and looking forward to all the help I can get. I enjoyed reading all of your specific topics.

Hi - I currently have two adult dogs:
Mack - 100 lb American Staffordshire (?) Mix
Minnie - 70 lb Plott Hound Mix

I've been feeding raw for approximately 5 - 6 years. My dogs get fed twice a day, and I measure their food, because I can't eyeball it! Mack gets 14 oz and Minnie gets 12 oz at each meal. I have the scale out for them and use it for me too. LOL

Chicken - mostly quarters, but will feed anything
Turkey - mostly ground, or whole if on sale
Beef - mostly ground, but will feed any part if on sale or get for free
Pork - cheapest I can find
Elk, Deer or Antelope - seasonally or when I can get for free
Salmon or Jack Mackeral at least 1x a week
1 Farm fresh egg per day

They also get a supplement of fish oil (Minnie 2 per day, Mack 8) plus Vit E. I also give Mack L-Glutamine as well as Gluc/Chon because he has had 2 knee surgeries, and Biotin for his brittle nails.

We have the following adult dogs:

Buster 28 lb Boston Terrier
Zoe 25 lb Boston Terrier
Avery 16 lb Mini Schnauzer
Molly 7 lb Silky Terrier

They have been fed raw since July 2011 and we feed approximately 2 lbs of food a day split between the four dogs.

Feeding:

chicken: whole, breast, quarters, drumsticks, paws, gizzards, liver, heart and eggs
Turkey: whole
pork: necks, picnic roast, ribs and country style ribs
Venison: ground and steaks

The fan favorite seems to be the pork.

We intend to introduce other meats in the near future.
