Hi Team, I just joined this team, and I hope, it will keep me focused not to eat late at night and stop snacking. I have been doing okay so far, but it seems to be getting harder for me. I do great during the day, but when the night comes, I really fight not eating junk....but hanging in there. Hope we all have good luck in reaching our goals.

Hello, I am new here and would like to loose a lot of weight and help with my health issues.
I have been doing pretty good so far. I do good until the evening comes and then, I want to eat junk food. I am trying to change these bad habits slowly, as bad habits are very hard to change. I think, I will enjoy this team, looks like I can join in and make comments too.

Good Luck to all, and have a nice evening! God bless all, who are struggling.

Hello all! emoticon I first came across this website in 2013, hence my name, and lost around 20 pounds, and soon after, lost touch with my tracking and gained my weight back. I've tried coming back dozens of times since then, but with no success. I am here today, with determination, 17 days into it and 5.5 lbs lighter, I need to follow through this time. I'm 54, work full time, have 3 grown children, I live in Maine with my domestic male partner and two cats. I have a total of 60-65 lbs to lose and have already lost 5.5 of it...it's a start!! emoticon
My thoughts are filled with how good it will feel to move around with less pain and more stamina, how good it will feel to wear pretty clothes again. Can't wait to hear what my doctor will say! I know it will take about 9-10 months to achieve it, but it will be worth it.

So thank you for adding me, and if anyone wants to be my weight loss buddy, maybe we can check in with each other daily or weekly to see how each of is doing! Have a great day!!

This looks like the team for me. The evening eating is my main problem. If I could get a handle on this I think I could stop the yo-young and het down to my goal weight. I am looking forward to see how you all are managing it.

Hi friends!!! I do great throughout the day...then after dinner...not so much. I enjoy a glass of wine after dinner. Which I think works against me....then I graze. :(. Need to improve this area.

Hi. My name is Georgann and I recently retired. I do well during the day but find myself binging after dinner. I need suggestions and help to find out why I do this. I just got done talking to my husband about my overeating at night and I came across this team as if I was guided here.

I will do what I need to do in order to do what I want to do.

I don't know how many "perfect" days I have sabotaged with a few minutes of mindless eating, often leading to binges, in the evening. This seems like a good place for support.

Just joined this team I use to be a member of this team but quit SP years ago and came back about a year ago. I do have trouble with night time eating and I need to stop as I am now a diabetic on insulin.

Hi,

I'm Susan and I'm delighted to have just stumbled across this team. I know my two problems are nighttime eating and self-sabotage so it seems like I'm an ideal match for this group.

I'm looking forward to "meeting" some new friends and am longing to learn some coping strategies.

HI JAE!

YOU AND ME BOTH. AND BEING OVERLOADED MAKES ME EAT EVEN MORE. JUST NOT HAVING THE JUNK FOOD AROUND REALLY HELPS SINCE I AM TOO LAZY TO GO OUT TO GET IT AT NIGHT. LOTS OF NICE LADIES HERE. SO I HOPE YOU FIND THE SUPPORT YOU NEED. WELCOME!

IT WAS LIKE I TOTALLY HAD NO CONTROL OVER MY BODY. I WOULD SAY THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT BUT I WAS FULLY AWARE OF WHAT I WAS DOING AND DID IT ANYWAY. NO IDEA WHY. NOW TO BUCKLE DOWN AND GET BACK ON TRACK. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Carol welcome to the team I am one of the leaders sometimes I am not as active on the chatting as I would like to be. Come to the summer chat and talk to us we are a great team very supportive and friendly. You can vent about DH or your children or your weight issues we are here to listen. We also encourage and just chat.

You sound pretty positive so it is a good prospective. Cherries are great for you they are very good for you. I can't stop eating them once I start one day last week I ate 2 lbs. in a few hours. Oh well it could have been worse. The juice bars another good choice. Unfortunately so many medications either make it hard to lose or help you gain weight. We just have to try to work around it.

Again Welcome to the team and hope to hear from you regularly. Teri

STAY POSITIVE AND SMILE. DON'T BE DISCOURAGED WHEN YOU HAVE A BAD DAY. THEY CAN ONLY GET BETTER.

Hi Everyone - I've been on Spark People forever but today was the first time I came across this team. I was checking out teams to see if there was an active team that addressed some of my issues with food - evening eating being the biggest and hardest to lick! emoticon I'm sure I'm not very different from most people on this team. I do great all day and then somewhere between the hours of 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. I eat everything that doesn't eat me first emoticon I've known for ages that I sabotage myself with this "night eating" but I've never been able to get a handle on it. About a month ago, I started tracking my food again on Spark. I absolutely need to track because I'm one of those people who eats 3 cups of something and calls it "one." Not very disciplined am I emoticon . Well, I realized that trying to cut myself off from anything after dinner was never going to work for me. I like an evening snack - actually I like several evening snacks, but I realized that unless I cut down on the number of snacks and changed the kind of snacks, I was going to die of old age on Spark and my little icon on my ticker was still going to be in the same spot emoticon

So far, I'm doing fine. I have lost 6 lbs. and although it's slow going emoticon , it's going and that's what really counts. I had breast cancer 4 years ago and the medication I take is an estrogen blocker. One of the side-effects of this medication is that it makes it hard to lose weight. So, if I lose 1/2 lb a week, I'm very happy. This medication has to be taken for 5 years and I've got 10 months to go. If all goes as well as it has so far, I'll be off it and maybe it will be a bit easier to lose. The other thing that has really helped me during this last month is that I've stopped trying to do everything "perfectly." I used to be totally obsessive - so much so that I would measure, weigh, precisely log everything to the Nth degree. I'm not saying we shouldn't be accurate BUT I am saying we shouldn't be OCD and beat ourselves up if we were supposed to eat 43 Gold Fish pretzels and ate 44 instead emoticon I'm being kinder to myself and I'm liking the way it feels! Sometimes, we need to give ourselves a emoticon

I really look forward to getting to know everyone on the team and getting tips as to what everyone is doing to conquer their evening eating emoticon . BTW, I've gone to juice bars for my snack at night and if I just have to have something else, I've been opting for fruit emoticon - especially cherries because they are my very favorite fruit and the season is short - so I'm eating them while they're available. emoticon

Peace & Blessings,
Carol in AZ

HELLO EVERYONE!
MY NAME IS ERIN AND I FOUND THIS TEAM THROUGH CHRIS - ONE OF YOUR TEAM LEADERS. IT LOOKS LIKE JUST THE THING FOR ME. I HAVE BEEN ON SPARK MANY, MANY YEARS AND HAVE SUCCESSFULLY LOST 100 POUNDS. BUT I STILL HAVE ABOUT 80 MORE TO GO. NOT SURE WHAT I WILL DO WITH ALL THIS HANGING SKIN - A MATCHED SET OF LUGGAGE PERHAPS. I AM MARRIED AND AT THIS POINT THAT IS QUITE CHALLENGING AS HE IS IN REMISSION FROM CANCER BUT HAS EXTREME CHEMO BRAIN OR SOME CALL IT CHEMO FOG. EVERY DAY IS AN ADVENTURE AND NOT ALWAYS PLEASANT BUT THEN I AM NO PICNIC TO LIVE WITH EITHER. I HAVE ONE GROWN DAUGHTER AND LIVE IN THE HEARTLAND. NOT MUCH ELSE TO TELL ABOUT ME - JUST A PLAIN OLE' SIMPLE PERSON. BUT I GUESS I AM KNOWN FOR MY WEIRD SENSE OF HUMOR. I HOPE TO MEET AND GET TO KNOW MANY OF YOU. ONE THING I DID FORGET TO ADD. I USUALLY WRITE IN ALL CAPS DUE TO A VISION PROBLEM. THAT WAY I CAN SEE WHAT I WRITE. HOPE THIS DOESN'T BOTHER ANYONE.

Hello All, I'm new! Joined SP a week ago. It's kind of a slow start, but I'll get in the rhythm! Glad to find a team who understands my "issue" - evening eating. In the evening my guard is lowered, I'm tired, I'm hungry. And that's when the mistakes occur ... emoticon

I'm sure your replies & posts will encourage me. Got a long way to go.
