Hello everyone! My name is Dannielle and I am 32 (33 this April!) and I have an 8, almost 9 year daughter. I'm single, work fulltime, I will be finishing up my last year of school next spring and I am building a business. I have been on my weight loss journey, most of it on sparkpeople, but I have yet to keep myself motivated to stay on the journey. I need to be accountable to someone else so that I don't use any excuses. I find that I do better that way.

Dannielle, CHN

I turn 40 in 1 year and my goal is to lose 5 lbs a month this next year for a total of 50-60lbs. I desperately need a texting/accountability/motivating buddy. I cannot log into the message board during the day so I need a quick way to communicate with somebody when I need support! Texting would be perfect! I'd also really enjoy giving the same support to my partner. I am a 39 yr old married woman who has 2 kids and works part time. Life is busy and I am very good at making excuses for myself. Weight has been a lifelong struggle and for the past few years, I am losing that battle!

Hi Everyone! I'm Melanie and I've been a SP member since 2009, but haven't done much on the site over the past few years. I came back yesterday and wrote an extremely long blog post about how my life has been for the past year (not the happiest, that's for sure), so I'm here and ready to make the necessary changes to lose ~170lbs, feel great and have babies! Thank you to Debbie who posted on my page! Indygirl is such an inspiration, if she can do it - so can we! :)

Hi I'm Angela. I have been around Spark for quite a few years. I started after my daughter was born and had some success then. Recently, I have been gaining and losing, gaining and losing. I haven't weighed what I weigh now since I was trying to lose weight after having my daughter seven years ago. I need accountability and I need consistency. I would like a buddy to keep me on track. I prefer communicating through sparkmail. I just really need a kick in the pants. My preferred exercise right now is walking. I plan to incorporate strength exercises using my body weight.

MRSDUCTHER: (from Indygirl team page)

I have found I need to do my own thing as far as exercise goes! I was trying to be a marathon runner, trainer for that when I first started Spark. I got to about 7 miles & was SO bored, I quit! So Now I do an occasional 5 k just keep keep walking quickly, BUT Zumba & I fell in love & I am off & playing there! I also do Shepped Pilates DVD. I think you are on the right path for yourself! Whatever works for each of us, right?

Thanks for your comments!

hello everyone!!!

Today is the beginning of my not stopping. I have discovered that when I tried to over do, I always burn out. I tried to do the Jillian Michaels workouts, but find I do not want to be person anymore...and it almost caused me to quit. I have found the best place for me is walking and light strength training...not crazy hard. I am learning my limitations and going forward albeit slowly

Hi! Everyone! I am SPARKLINGME176
I have been with Spark People 21 months now. I reached my high goal, 51 #'s down. But I keep going up & down with the same 7 #'s. I'm OK with it, I am healthy & happy & have found ZUMBA, Sheppard Pilates & walking! Love being active for the first time in my life!

Feel free to visit my Spark page to learn more! I am VERY blessed & happy to be alive & healthy! I just want to get my head on straight about maintenance. INDYGIRL has been a SP friend of mine for awhile now. I thought I would join the team & help support where i can!

Sparkles to all!

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm 50 and have somewhere around 75 pounds to lose. I live in Florida with my husband, four dogs, three cats, and a guinea pig. At the moment, my youngest daughter and new son-in-law are living with us along with their dog, cat, and two chinchillas. My eldest daughter and my 20 month old grandson are also living with us. It's rather a full house and is a little high stress at times. I work full time as a secretary, so, even though I workout six days a week, I have a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I've had to tone back my workouts to low impact to keep from constantly injuring myself, so I will have to focus more on my nutrition and getting more activity in my day.

Hello, I am Sheryl. I have been a member of Spark People off and on for a few years. I am 66 years old, need to lose around 65 pounds.
I know I should move more and need the motivation to do it. My eating is healthy and usually within the range set for me by SP.

Hi, my name is Therese and I'm a returning SP member. I lost 20 kg's 2011-2012 and then let my health problems get the best of me, that resulted in a lot of comfort eating, that in turn of course led to weight gain and more pain. I'm back here now with more experience and knowledge, and this time around I will be more kind to myself.

I'm a stay at home mom from Sweden, we live in Tunisia though since -02. My husband and children are my life, and I feel that I can't be the happy mother I want to be when I don't feel good about myself. So I'm here to change that.

emoticon APACHESTEVE You are so right about this team. There are many active members that are always encouraging each other. Beth, our team leader is always giving very good tips about diet, exercise, food, clothing, etc; very good information to help us succeed in our journey.

Good Day Ladies and Gents, my name is Steve and even after having lost over 50 pounds, I still have over 100 pounds to go on my journey to getting healthier. I love the long range success stories on this team and find them most motivating. Here is a little about me, although feel free to visit my Sparkpage for more bio type data.

The Apache part of my name is not a reference to my heritage but rather the mascot of the school where I am a computer tech. I also am blessed with the privilege of broadcasting the schools football and basketball games on a local radio station. I've led many different career paths: dj, sportscaster, college student, controls systems engineer, electronic design engineer, and finally settled in on a career working with technology in education.

I love St. Louis Cardinals baseball, broadcasting games, reading, music, and my 13 year old Son, not in that order of course. I've been morbidly obese since the age of 15 or so, but for the first time I've been working on the causes of my food binges. My goal is now health and fitness, and I'll let the scale take care of itself. I find being able to wear smaller clothing more motivating than a number on a scale.

Obviously I enjoy talking so I'm looking forward to participating in the team threads.

If you believe you can, or can not, either way you are correct.

Hello again everyone! My name is Stephanie, and I'm on a journey to lose 160 pounds. I have a very long road ahead of me, and I would love to make some new friends so we can encourage each other. I was here a couple of months ago, but I've been struggling a lot, so I've been absent from SP for awhile, trying to wrap my head around getting this weight off and making a true commitment. Having so much to lose is pretty overwhelming, but I'm determined to take it one day at a time. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi team, I'm Beth from west Michigan and I'm working on counting carbs. Over the last year I've gone from pre-diabetic to a glucose level of 82--mainly by eating lots and lots of salads and veggies (sort of like Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live book.) Working on controlling emotional eating, which happens once in awhile. Also working on being more regular in working out. I LOVE reading all the success stories here on SP---and a big shout out to Indygirl for her amazing story! I hope in a year (or two) I can be posting pictures about my own 100 lb. weight loss. Looking forward to getting to know all of you better.

Hello, I am Linda from Texas. I am not new to SparkPeople, but new to this team. Indygirl has inspired me over and over again!
I have multiple health issues and am working on a lot of past emotional baggage that I believe is blocking my road to success. Also I have not been brutally honest with myself. I simply do not exercise enough. That is changing!
I have a dear husband and 2 cats and am age 62. I weigh over 215 lb and should ideally weigh 150 to 160 for my height and bone structure.

Hi everyone!
I am a long time sparker...but I am standing in my own way when it comes to permanent weight loss. I am an emotional eater. 40lbs off...40lbs on. My husband and I walk on average 3 to 4 days a week (when our show schedule allows) for 4 miles. We eat lots of fruit and veggies and I LOVE snacks...sweets, salty and everything in between. For my heath, I need to loose at least 100 lbs.

Indygirl is one of my weight loss hero's and I am excited to be a part of this awesome team!

I'm Yvonne, I'm 70 and I've been holding on the same 166 to 172 pounds for too long. I wanted to join a group where weight loss is serious, to motivate me to stop playing around.

I just found my last weigh-in in my Weight Watchers booklet, recorded December 3, 2008, was 167.2 I had started out at 180, and I've never gotten back up that far, but this morning's weight was 169, so I've just been moving around in the same numbers.

I do have a good habit of exercise started; I rarely indulge in junk food, and I eat a very nourishing and healthy diet. I just eat too much, and often when I eat out, I feel empowered somehow to have dessert. Those things have been enough to keep me from losing anything significant.

My weight goal for Weight Watchers was 145, but the charts say I should weight 125 (I've lost 2 inches of height due to age). I really doubt if I ever weigh that again.

I hope to be supported on this team but to be confronted as well, when you can see I'm dealing in fantasy.

I've been a fan of Indygirl for as long as I've been a Sparker.

Hi everyone, I'm Mary and I have been on SP for a year. I did not reach my goal this year, but I'm still moving forward and happy with the progress I have made so far.

I won't tell my "story" here because I want it to stay in the PAST. My future is HEALTHY!!! (The present is a work in progress.)

Why did it take me so long to find the best team on SP???? emoticon

Amy, I would be dellighted to be fitness buddies with you. I too am "isolated" in RL.

Hello;

My name is Amy and I weigh 498.4lbs. My high weight was about 515 and I'm nearly 6' tall.
I have a loving husband who is about 6'1" and is 420lbs and we have 2 cats. We've been trying to lose weight for years- I have actually always been big. But what I thought was fat in my teens is nothing compared to now.

I would like to get weightloss surgery- and its Dr. recommended but our insurance excludes it and we don't have the money. I currently don't work and thats partly due now to how large I've gotten. There are many occupations blocked to me know because I can't physically do them.

So it's back to Sparkpeople! I've used this site on and off for maybe 4 years- though about 6months ago I got super frustrated and deleted my account. A month or so later I started over.

I'm 33 and my husband is 40- in my 20's I had 3 miscarriages due to Protein S Deficiency(Diagnosed 4 years ago) and my weight. I am not allowed to get pregnant atm- was basically given the choice of an IUD or a hysterectomy. And being so fat, I know it will take a least a couple years to lose enough to have a child.

I feel like time is ticking down- if I don't get fit soon I will lose my chance to have kids ever. So that- as well as wanting to live a long healthy life with hubby- is what is motivating me.

I really like the new start page and the "Goals" section. I am going to make it a point to review that every day to keep motivated. Hubby and I are also trying to remind each other when we want to eat too much- "Would you rather eat that or have kids?".

I would love some help finding exercise videos for really large folks. I can do some activity- but need a less punishing workout than "normal-sized" folks.

I don't have many friends in real life; and I could use a buddy or 2 for mutual support but I have limited text messages... :(

Thanks for listening.

My heart craves to know each of you. I wish we could all have a big party and be together. I hate seeing people lose the will to fight. I want to pick all of you up and tell you that it is just putting one foot in front of the other. You don't need to have the perfect plan or a perfect life, heaven knows I don't. I get up and take it a choice at a time. I drink a lot of water and tea and eat a ton of ice chips, fruits and veggies... next on the list is protein because I try to have plenty of that. I try to stick to real carbs, like whole grains or vegetable based carbs like real potatoes, corn or peas. Eating real food rather than process chips, cakes, cookies, crackers and such really is helpful to me. It keeps my appetite down. The cinnamon and chromium tip from YOU ON A DIET is dead on. I take that everyday and it has curbed my sweet tooth for 8 years. Nectar Sweets by Syntrax is a protein powder I use that is very mixable and helps me keep my appetite in check and get all of my protein
in. If you can't move well, get an arm bike. They do wonders. I suggest the Magnetrainer of Magnetrainer.com. It works for both arms and feet. Anyway, those are my two cents for fighting the good fight, or at least a starting point. Join in on some of the other boards where these things are being discussed.

Thanks Susan - wow a place without cell service - as I provide 4 other family member's cell phones, that sounds good! At least for a minute!

Hi everyone -- I saw Indygirl's great post on stopping a binge and had to dive right in. Saw her page and her team and knew I belonged here. I am retired and an emptynester, my DH and I have a great golden retriever named Gracie. I have lots of motivation right now and want to do everything I can to keep it going, the stronger, the better.

Kat, I'd love to be a text buddy BUT, in the part of Vermont where I moved -- no cell service. If you don't find a text buddy, we could be email buddies or sparkmail buddies, etc.

Susan

Hello - I am not new but have not been on SparkPeople for a while and lost all motivation to "fight the good fight".
Of course, GOD doesn't just leave us in a heap on the road for long and now I am being inspired to start again.

I noticed this says text buddy - i need one please! I am a senior citizen and running an at home business. I will commit to (at least) once a day text with a buddy. Anyone looking for me???

emoticon IRVING666. We have a new co-leader in the team. He lost a lot of weight. He and INDYGIRL can be great role models for your son and you as they are for us.
