Signed up for October 27th. A friend is flying from out of town and we will be completing our first 5k ever together. It will be quite the experience! And a lot different from our usual vacation plans.

I haven't signed up for a 5k yet, but I've signed up for a Mud Run and was hoping this would help me get ready for that. I've never, ever wanted to run, but a mud run looked like so much fun, I thought it would be a great way to be more active.

I have signed up for a 5K in October! (I prefer to race when the weather isn't so hot). The last race I ran was 2 years ago (a half marathon) ... proud of that, but was not happy with the pace AND it burned me out from running for a while. Sooooo, now I'm back ... and actually feel like running again, but want to start back slowly which is why I chose this program. I want to run this virtual 5K in 5 weeks and THEN start working on my pace, so that by the time October rolls around I can run the 5K at a 10 min/mile pace (or less!) That's my goal!

I haven't signed up yet, because the race isn't for another couple of months, but I'm already ready! Thank you! The plan has worked wonders. I am signed up for the tough mudder though. I wish there was a simple simple training plan for that! yea right! emoticon

You can be sore tomorrow, or you can be sorry tomorrow. You choose. :)

Yes, I signed up for a 5K Trail Run here in Central Texas supporting our graduating class of 2012. Race day is April 21st.
I just began my 5K training program ( just joined this team 2 days ago... ), but I really want to do this because my mom has asked me to.....first time she has ever asked me to join her in a race!
I am averaging a 13 min. mile with your program.

I do have a question though: Is a "trail" run harder than running on asphalt?
unfortunately, my experience is limited to the treadmill.

I am signing up for my first 5k for this year. I have ran in the past, but just had a baby 9 months ago. My fastest time was 36 minutes, but I haven't ran in over a year, almost 2 years. I am signing up for Race for the Cure (Susan G. Komen) in SLC, UT. My aunt was just diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had a double mastectomy today. Here's to reaching my goals!

It actually fits in perfect to the plan as the race will be 4 days after my completion of the program. I'm looking forward to it and trying to not be overly aggressive with my training. As I finish week 1, I feel like I'm probably at a level somewhere at the end of week 2 or maybe early week 3 pace. To avoid injury though I'm following the plan and looking forward to the Race. It's been a few years since I've run a 5k.

Yes I did! I signed up for a 5K on Saturday November 26 -- two days after Thanksgiving. That gives me six weeks to train -- which is totally doable for me, given that I've been running on an inclined treadmill since January.

My program slipped 9 days due to a calf injury. That puts the virtual 5K I originally signed up for as a week too early; but I'm covering more than 5K per session in Week 2, and I certainly expect to cover 5K in less than the prescribed training time when I get to full time running.

I may drop that 5K and sign up for the following week, so as not to disrupt the training schedule; or I may just run one of the training sessions around my 5K route, note the time, and keep going to fill out the required training.

Decisions, decisions.

Signed up for the Oct 2-8 virtual 5K. If I've counted right, that puts it on Week 5 of my program, right where I need it.

I'm thinking in terms of also signing up for the Trick or Treat Trot, but I'll see how the training goes before I do that.

Signed up for the Turkey Trot 5K on 11/19. That also happens to be my big 3-0! Thought it would be a heck of a way to kick off my 30's! It will be my second 5K, but the first one was 4 years and 30 lbs ago. I am signed up for the 5K 5 week running, but doing a slightly modified version and adding an extra week of walking 1, jogging 3. I figured I still have a few months to get up to speed, so I can afford another week in there! Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone,

I signed up for my first 5k race, which will take place on Nov. 9th, 2011. Santa Clarita Marathon, a local one for me to start off with.

It will be a significant time of year for me, because it will be one year since I broke my ankle and I'm fulfilling a goal of mine to run again (5k Your Way program has really helped me stay consistent and I'm ready now for the races, yay!).

I am signed up but "hoping to get in" our military housing does one annually but it's done as a lottery so still waiting to hear... if i don't get in... i'm going to go to the bike trail and run my OWN 5K there... it's a week and a half away... on the 23rd... I also found another one at a base near by that I'm looking into for August? i think ... last year I ran the one through housing for the first time ever in a race... I had a tandem double stroller that i pushed the entire way because my husband wasn't home and I had no one else to watch my two boys... I made it in 48 mins and 6 seconds I believe... my oldest son (who was 3) ran almost a mile of it himself) I am in week 4 of training and am hoping to beat my time this year... my husband should be here and we now have a jogging stroller I am debating about letting him push it or not... I'm hoping for a time of between 25 and 30 mins (without the stroller) so we'll see... I have had to issues with my back hip since starting training today is a bad day? soo will see how i feel tomorrow... have only been able to get two runs in a week due to my back? have had 2 doc. appoints in the 4 weeks as well... i'm determined to do this 5K... and many more... :)

Ok, I'm a little late. I did my first 5K on June 5th, which is why I started the C25K when my daughter mentioned doing the Women's Fitness Festival last year. Only I got off track for 2 months and started back again 1 month before the race. I ran most of it. The last half mile or so I walked the intersections and ran the blocks. My daughter then went on ahead of me. My time was 40 minutes and I was 60 out of 160 for my age group.

Decided to keep up with the running 2 - 3 days a week along with my usual swimming 3 - 4 days a week and looking for another 5K. There are 2 in August. One locally and one near my daughter. I'll see what she says and then decide.

I just signed up for my first 5K race!
July 23rd. Whew, I'm only on week one - I am going to have to rush my training a bit to get all my runs in by then!
I convinced my friend to run with me too, so that will make it more fun!
I'm also really happy that the proceeds are going to the cancer foundation, which hits pretty close to home for me since I'm currently in treatment for thyroid cancer.
Now it's time to start running!

I am so nervous about signing up for one first of all....and excited, Can't believe I am even going to try this. But KNOW i can do it!

I have just started reaching the 5K mark jogging, and having some hip issues, trying to sort out before I sign up. Aiming in my mind for one in Sept, and actually one in October. Both are 5K's...as it just seems like an insane thing to do! BUT....I am hesitating, as I wonder if I could swing doing a 10k....never have done a real race before. Not sure what to expect, been readin up but I know its not the same as experiencing it. Should I stick to the two 5K's this year and work up to a 10k next year? I only just started doing the 5k...last week without breaks or walking in between. So maybe that would be pushing it?? Help! Any advice appreciated.

This weekend I signed up for a July4th 5K run. I will be running this with a friend I met last year at a running club when I was learning to run. It was 1 year ago on July 4th that I decided I wanted to learn to run a 5K - I wanted to be able to do something that I never did before. I was not known as a runner or even someone that would like to run, a year later - I really enjoy running and like that I have met new friends and joined SP to encourge and motivate others to do the same.
