Hi my name is Kelser, and this is my second time trying to keep on track on spark. I joined this bootcamp in order to get a routine going. It never seems to fail that at one point in my workout there is a freak accident and i end of missing a workout. Once I miss that one, it seems that I keep missing them. I want to make working out a habit.

Hi My name is Sherry... this is the first time I am posting to this blog or any blog for that matter! Anyway I love this sparkpeople site and I am just starting the 28 day challenge today! Not sure what it is that I will accomplish in 28 days other than a great routine but hope to - by summer be in great shape, quit smoking and lose a minimum of 25-30 pounds!

I am new to the site and noticed the bootcamp challenge. I thought it would be a good way to motivate myself to get a kickstart to my weight loss. I am not sure how you all added your weight loss tracker to the email but maybe I will learn.

Hello everyone!
I just learned about the 28-day challenge today, so I am signing up!

I started a new journey of losing weight, getting fit and just generally turning my life around in June. I am now about 40 pounds away from my goal. But the one thing I have just gotten a good handle on is the fitness part. Maybe this challenge is just what I need to get me going!

New year, new habit. Let's get it going! emoticon

Hi All! My name is Barb and I am ready to get this ball rolling. I am a Lap Band Girl who has been recently slapped in the face with the knowledge that just because you have bariatric surgery, it does nat guarantee a thing! Everyone says it is a tool and they are right! I still love my band but I am back within 10 lbs of my starting weight. Soooo, I am back to exercising and following a healthy Lap Band compatible nutrition plan and I am on a roll! (and I don't mean the one around my tummy!) I can do this!!! I logged in my first 20 minutes on the ellipical this morning. Woo Hoo! emoticon

Hello, my name is Gaye and I am new to the challenge. I am not new to Spark People, I have been on and off the diet for far too long and decided that my health is more important now that I am getting into the 40's so I want to not be thin but to be fit. I want to be healthy so that I may enjoy grandchildren (whenever they start having them) as much as I enjoyed my children. I also was told that I am borderline diabetic so it is time to change my habits and my life. I just need to find the will power and stick to it.

Hi everyone,

My name is Yalonda Dabney and I have been trying to lose weight for years! Okay, let me be honest with you and myself. I have been thinking about losing weight for years! 2011, I made myself a goal to finally get on track and do it, so here I am. I have two beautiful boys that I love very much and I want to be around and healthy to see them continue growing into the responsible young men that they are. To do that, I have to get my cholesterol down and drop at least 25 pounds. I'm giving myself until June 1, 2011 to do so and if I don't make it, I'll be that much closer having done the 28-Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge.

I look forward to cheering others on and succeeding in my goal.

Thanks,

Yalonda

Hello! My name is Denise, I'm 53 and enjoyinglife!
I've been with Spark for almost 3years now and have lost 75 pounds. I've been very comfortable with myself for the last year, though, and have pretty much spent it maintaining. While I'm proud of that, it's not good enough to call myself "healthy". I need to lose at least another 25 but 50 would be even better! So...here's to this challenge to get me motivated, off my butt and heading towards a healthier weight!

Hi Just starting the challenge today. I have been on Spark for a short time and thought I would up the anti and my commitment. The title 28-Day Bootcamp sounded like a little more then I was able to do but when I looked into it and saw the first video, I thought hey I can do this. I know each video will be more intense but one step at at time. emoticon

Hi! I came across this site a few days ago and thought I'd check it out. I like it so far and am taking actions to be successful with changing my lifestyle. I've tried to do it solo before, but have read people are much more successful when participating in group discussions, forums, etc. So here I am. I love cardio exercise, but not weight training as much. I joined the Bootcamp Challenge to help me become motivated and change by thinking towards weight training.

Hi! I'm Aoife. I have been struggling with depression, anorexia, and my weight for as long as I can remember. I am proud to say I have worked through my anorexia and depression - I have also haven't had a panic attack in months.

Now I feel like I'm on solid ground, and I can really focus on shedding these 45 pounds. A few months ago, I splurged and bought myself a treadmill- a huge treat, but well worth it! I now have the luxury of getting an intensive cardio workout in my basement. Lately I've just been popping up my laptop and watching a film on Netflix while working up a sweat. I'm feeling great!

I want to be the slender, healthy, beautiful girl that I dream about. I am so extremely excited for this to happen. I know I can do this!

Hi! I'm Ray and I've been here for about a year; though, I've admittedly only been active for a few weeks at a time...

Anyway, I thought this would be a great way to get into the swing and get serious. I have steadily gained weight since retiring from the Marine Corps and would, ultimately, like to shed the 50lbs or so to return to my fighting weight.

I'm also looking for a buddy to help me keep on track at least during the challenge!

Good luck to all!

Hello all. I have been on Sparkpeople for 1 year now. I have not lost much weight but I have learned a lot. I am a stay at home mom of two teanagers which at times, work was easier. I was once way to thin, but babies have a way of fixing that problem. Now I'm heavier than I would like to be. The kids are old enough now for me to put some time into me and it isn't all about them. I'm trying to head off the family medical history and at the same time teach my kids some good healthy habits.

"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're COMMITTED to something, you accept NO EXCUSES; only results."

I tired of being sick and tired all the time!! Time to do something about it!!

And This Too Shall Pass.

LIFE is like an echo..........

Hello Everyone!
My name is Carol, I am from Utah, I am 54 heading for 55. I started losing weight when I saw Losing it with Jillian back in May 2010. From June til the first of January I lost 68 pounds, and want so bad to lose 2 more to make my 70 pounds. I have been maintaining and my scales seen to stay the same, and I want to make that scale move. But that to me is a big accomplishment in itself. I need to lose another 100 pounds to my goal weight of 140, so I can be the smallest in my family. right now I am next to the smallest now. I was the biggest. I have been doing weight watchers, spinning, richard Simmons, walking on the treadmill, I have these peddles I do while I watch TV or read. But I sure do feel better. I sure looking forward to my goal. This will be a great challange for me.
Good Luck to Everyone! YEA!

Hi, my name is Sim and I am ready for the year of change...bring on 2011!! This is actually my first time posting on a website like this and I am oddly nervous, but I see the support and encouragement that is spread on here daily and hope to both be supported and be a supporter. My goal is to lose 30 pounds by July...I know that may seem like a tall order but I am in a wonderful mindset right now and have done it once before and know I can do it again. Good luck to everyone here on your own goals!
PS- I did the cardio video for day 1 today and I found it harder than I thought I would have! But I am trying to no longer put myself down for things I could not do, but rather celebrate all that I could!

Go Habs Go!!

GO GO Philoforest (the person posting before me who needs cybercheerleaders)and everyone else here. I am excited about this challenge be/c it seems more accessible than the class I joined at the gym which had my entire body sore for several days after one workout. No matter though. I know I need to ease into more intense exercise (I refuse to quit), so I'm looking forward to gaining fitness, losing weight, and working myself back up to more difficult challenges. Day One will start TOMORROW. Good luck everyone!!

I just joined the challenge minutes ago.

Need to keep on track for 12,000 steps/a day PLUS; exercise and; mindful COUNTING of meals; more water daily. Sounds easy but is a real challenge for me, once I get comfortable and lose a pound or two. Help!!!!

I joined the challenge today. My goals are to achieve and maintain my goal weight through exercise and mindful eating. I enjoy hiking, trying new recipes and reading. I sometimes lack motivation and look forward to having cyber buddies cheering me on.

SENIORFITLADY - Thank you for your comment. :) Awesome on your 25 pound lost! I have been overweight most of my life so it's a constant battle. I also belong to the Y and enjoy spinning most of all. Our Y just updated the weight equipment at one of our locations and I'm so excited to get to use it when the doc gives okay. Also very excited to be able to hike this summer and NOT worry about period starting! So it's all good. Good luck to you! BTW - I don't think you look senior at all! I'm 50 and my daughters call me 'old' but since losing most of the weight, I feel better than I ever have - even better than when I was 20!!
