I am new to this team and have lost 40 pounds in 18 months after gaining weight in 1 year related to blood clots and not being able to cook or exercise for a year. I am now the same size as I was in high school after 2 years to lose the weight for the first time in my life! Until I got sick I was the same size for 30 years. I am now allergic to gluten, dairy, soy,rice,pork ,corn, potatoes, sugar,acid foods,oranges,pickles,vinegar,eggs and because of my blood thinner medication I need the exact same amount of vitamin K daily! How is that for a diet? I eat at home a lot of course! I am also allergic to all chemicals in foods including the arsenic in rice milk and other so called foods, and toxic paint chemicals in regular cake mixes! Rice & soy products including organic tofu is very toxic!

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

Hi my name is Melanie. I'm the mother of a 19 year old daughter and a 30 year old stepson. I work in a high school special education classroom where the children have various disabilities. Spark people has taught me that changing your lifestyle helps keep the weight off instead of just dieting. I've been trying by myself for years with no progress to show for it. Started Sparkpeople in 2011 and left for several years as my life was a mess. Now I'm back and ready to do this.
