I make big pots of food and break it down for me, then freeze it in freezer bags, doesn't take up so much space.

Thanks! I think the problem I'm having is that when I use a recipe, it makes 6, 8 or 12 or whatever portions and in my house it's just me and my daughter-who is in college, is rarely home, and even more rarely eats my cooking!-so I end up with a ~lot~ of leftovers. So I end up eating a lot of the same thing over the course of a week or two so I get bored and either freeze some portions or throw too much food away. Definitely something I plan to work on in the coming year is how to cook just for me and break recipes down into 2 or 3 servings so I don't waste as much. It's a challenge, and already on my New Years resolutions list--waste less food, clean the freezer out from all the leftovers, and cook with more flavor, more variety and smaller portions!

I think Spark has a page that can help make meals interesting We make up a menu for 2 weeks at a time, get everybodies input on what they would like, let each child have a day for helping fix at least one meal for that day, they learn life skills, and we have some very interesting meals, it is a lot of fun, even the teenagers get in to it.

Hi. I joined SP this summer and have found it a really useful web site. I have lost almost 30 pounds since joining, so I am really excited about keeping it up!

I have been searching for new boards to join and found this one. I joined because I am just starting to get to the point of trying to keep the food I eat interesting, I am getting bored with what I've been eating and am on the cusp of slacking off with my nutrition tracker! I need some new ideas! So I hope to get some new ideas here for how to keep my menu interesting, and I hope to get to a point of not being afraid to experiment so I hope to contribute some things as well.

Thanks!
