I've lost significant weight following a healthy, mostly plant-based diet. I have significant health issues, but my doctor has reduced or stopped several of my medications in the last year because of my improved health. Exercise has always been a bit of a challenge for me. I do enjoy walking outdoors when the weather is nice, but the winter is a REAL challenge. I also enjoy walking with Leslie Sansone, I just have to DO it. I'm joining this team because I want to stop making excuses for not exercising in the winter. emoticon

No matter how slow you go, you are STILL lapping everybody on the couch.

Hi, Patsy here. I enjoy walking at home and had no idea there was a Sparkteam. I'm glad I found you! My birthday 12/7, my weakness is cake which is pretty bad considering I love to bsket. My greatest strength is I'm an organizer. I can organize anything!

I'm in Ocala, Florida!

Hi, I'm Ramona. I'm finally back to a normal life so I'm back to working on myself. I ride a recumbent exercise bike, walk with Leslie Sansone videos, walk - I have a Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker, I just started strength training (I mean seriously, it was way past time to start) and anything else my body will allow. I'm 62 with multiple health issues but I try not to let them stop me or slow me down too much. One step at a time, one day at a time!

Start with small steps and momentum will build. Celebrate moving in the direction of increased happiness now! With a plan and persistence moving towards your goals all things are possible! Adopt an attitude of gratitude. Be thankful for everything you have. It may not be what you want be show you're thankful for it anyway.
Live, laugh, love and find joy in life, Ramona

Hi, I'm new to this team, but have been with SP for a few years now. I have the 5 Mile Walk DVD & had previously used it quite a bit. I got out of the habit, for various reasons, of any kind of formal exercise & am trying to get back with it, again. There's always a good reason/excuse to quit something, but there are just as many good reasons to start up, again. So, here I am, making my effort to get back with it. Look forward to encouraging each other emoticon

Hi, I'm Violet and I love my walking dvds. The easiest and most effective exercise I can do. Have mostly been walking outdoors because of the beautiful weather we have been having but when the weather is crappy I love walking away those pounds indoors.

Hi, I'm Jenny* and I'm new. I turned 40 in December and the weight has just piled on! Clearly I need to make changes in my lifestyle, so I am starting with cutting back on my portion sizes and starting exercising by walking and wearing a pedometer. Looking for support along the way!

Hi Ileana here. I started with Sparkpeople several years ago but got major league distracted. Now that I am over 50 (51) I need to get back on track and improve my fitness level and avoid obesity complications. I am 5'9.5" and over 230 lbs., I get away with the weight because I'm tall but I feel it in my hips and knees.

The neighborhood that I moved into a few months ago offers a walk away the pounds class which I joined 3 weeks ago. I've gone at least 2-3 times a week but am pushing for all 5 days. I also go bike riding usually about 10 miles (according to my odometer). I am primarily working in my activity level, since I've been a couch potato for several years. The days that I work out I noticed that I don't eat as much, so I'm hoping to actively get my portions under control as well.

Hoping to motivated and be motivated by you all. Have a great day!!!

Hello, My name is Sherilyn. I'm 54 years old, 2 grown children. 5 grandchildren, 3 of which live with me. 6 years ago I lost 60 pounds using walking away the pounds and sparkpeople. I put all that weight back on. Now I'm back to loose it again. I started right before Thanksgiving and have lost 21 pounds so far. I plan on getting back to 150. I own 8 of Leslie's disc. my birthday is Oct. 19. My strenght is that when I finally make up my mind to do something I don't stop till I get what I want. My weakness is my family and loved ones. I seam to have this bad habit of doing everything for them and forget about myself. I loose myself in their needs. I am trying to retrain myself to stop forgetting about me. My motivation is my health. I need to get healthy for my grandchildren and myself.

Hi! I'm Chris. 51 married, no kids lots of pets :) I started on Sparkpeople about 3 weeks ago, been working on healthy eating habits and ready to begin exercising! I've walked away pounds before and figure its a good place to start this time too. Today I did 10 min of walking but also spent about 45 minutes scraping ice of our driveway :-) Looking forward to more walking!

Hello! I'm Lisa, 45 year-old, working mom to 4 kids who have now all flown out of the nest. I am enjoying the empty nest so far, busying my time with friends, sleep, and bucket list items. I would like to lose 100 pounds and recently subscribed to the Roku station Gaiam. I am completely hooked on the Leslie Sansone videos! Today I did one of her toning videos, a one mile walk, and shoveled snow for 43 minutes. 2014 I am focusing on my health and getting back into shape, eating right, and making good decisions!

Hello! I am Jennifer, just turned 31 year old wife and stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to 2 girls. I have been overweight all of my adult life, but my weight and lack of self-control has just gotten ridiculous lately. Last week I was 22 pounds heavier than I was 9 months pregnant with each of my daughters! Yesterday was my one week anniversary with SP and my new life, and I had lost 3.2 pounds. I know most of that was water weight, but I would have been thrilled with 1 pound. I have a whole collection of workout DVDs in my entertainment stand, Zumba, TurboJam, Sweatin' to the Oldies...but honestly, I am too out of shape for most of them. Until that point I had never heard of Walk Away the Pounds or Leslie Sansone. Then last week I was listening to Spark Radio and Lily interviewed a lady who I think had lost over a hundred pounds (I listened to several of the past programs, and can't keep them all straight) using the Walk Away the Pounds videos. She had some major health problems, I can't remember what, and I thought that if she could still do the Leslie's videos then so could I. So I found the Start Walking 2 mile video on YouTube, and I really love it. I've done it every day since last Wednesday. I also have "Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds ultimate collection" ordered from the library, and it just came in this morning, so I am very excited to pick that up this afternoon.

My goals are to not turn 32 in the same shape I turned 31. I want to be able to play with daughters and not just watch them play. I want to look and feel great on our family's first vacation after 12 years of marriage in 2015. I am hoping to be well under 200 pounds by my 32nd birthday and to my goal weight by the following summer (August 2015).

I am sorry for the novel! I tend to talk/write a lot!!!

Hello! New to the group, not to sparkpeople. I am so ready to make time everyday to do walking video. Then when it gets nice outside I will take it out there. I know sometimes something comes up where I may not be able to exercise, but darn, I will try my hardest to get something in!!

I'm opening a new page of a new chapter in my life!! Boy, it feels great!!

I'm Susan, 65, not a new member, but have over 100 pounds to lose. I've made up my mind that I'm not focusing on the pounds but on the exercise.

I live in Virginia about 1 hour and 15 minutes west of DC. I have a lot of Leslie Sansone DVDs and need to get using them on a regular basis.

Thank you for organizing this club.

Hi there! I'm Jennifer, about 50 lbs from my goal and I think I have the eating right down (or at least I'm on a path), but the exercise, I end up not doing it.
Walk Away the Pounds helped me lose almost 100lbs about 9 years ago, then I had a baby and gained back.

I'm so happy to have found this group!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I've been with sparkpeople for a couple of years and I am finally determined to "just do it"! At age 66, I may not have time for procrastination and I wish I hadn't been putting it off so long. I'm a member of TOPS too and weigh about 15 pounds less than my top weight. I eat the right foods, just too much of them; because of health reasons - 5 surgeries this winter and a knee replacement two years ago, I just don't get the exercise I need but I am back up to 8000-10,000 steps today and I really enjoy Leslie's tapes. I know the members will help me to stay motivated and I am determined to lose 15 more pounds by the end of this year. Can I do it?? I ask myself that every day.

Hello, I'm Jen. I've been with Sparkpeople for 7 months now. Still am about 50 pounds away from my goal weight yet. And I love using these DVD's most days of the week for exercise and walking outside on our country roads the rest of the time with my toddler in tow. My goal is to go from my current weight of 176 (down from 212) to goal weight of 125-130.

Hi Everyone, I am Gloria. I have loved Leslie Sansone for a long time....I try to get some variety in my exercise, so I walk outside, on my treadmill and I do my Leslie DVDs! It is just so easy to do one of her DVDs and get a mile (or more in). It can be done before work or after work...it's just so convenient and she is so easy to follow!

Hi all! My name is Shay and I am a huge fan of Leslie Sansone's Walk-Fit. I was exercising almost everyday until I got a job outside my home. Now that I am starting to feel bad about not exercising and gaining back the 10 pounds that I lost, I have to get myself together. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Hello,
I am glad to find this group and look forward to doing something that doesn't require being outside this time of year. This is a wonderful video and low impact on my body. Of course, it will take time to work up to the 3 miles but I look forward to the challenge.

Hello everyone,

My name is Sara. I just joined this site today. I started working out a week ago. My total goal is 80 pounds (to end up at 140 pds) but my first goal is to lose 60 pounds in the next 17 months.

So far I have lost 7 pounds, taking me from 222 to 215.

Years ago I did the Walk Away the Pounds DVDs and fell in love with them but then I stopped dieting and put them away. Now I am back to using them again and hoping that walking will be the first step to doing other exercises.

Hey everyone, my name is Kendra.
Been a Leslie Sansone fan for about 10 years. Lost a lot of weight and got strong with her then had a baby and let things go. But now I'm back on SP and ready to attack WATP full on.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and see how you're all doing.

Kendra

My user name is a play on "so worthy..." I finally figured out that I am worthy of taking good care of myself, that taking care of myself is the opposite of letting myself go and I'm determined to turn my life around. I joined the team this week and my first post was on the "which video" topic.

I started losing weight last May with WW and have a total of 25 pounds off but I hit a plateau. Shortly after, I found Spark People in the recent "Half Their Size" edition of People magazine and joined up. This site is a great motivator with great tips, modified strength moves perfect for someone like me and menus that match my busy schedule. The bonus is that I earn points for my persistence and I'm loving it. I will use the points and the 5 lb weight loss goals to reward myself. I see a lot of activity of good people just trying to live a better, healthier life.

My ultimate goal is to lose another 70 pounds to get to 140 and to stay there for life. My method is to eat healthier by following the SP menu suggestions and exercise at home five days per week for at least 30 minutes in spite of some limited mobility, and to keep encouraging myself on sore body, low energy days. My doctor approved walking as my primary exercise and so here we go!

Leslie Sansone's method and her approach are just right for my personality and I don't get tired of using her video. I have only one but I think it's time I bought another. I'll reward meeting my goal of a five pound loss with a new video.

I look forward to much success here! Take care.

Welcome Basteat46! I am sorry you are confused. If you click on the goals at the bottom, I want you to track whether you did a workout or not no matter how much or how little it may have been. So in the how much section just put one workout for today if you did one workout. The goal is to get us up and moving. Doing something and we will add more as we progress! How does that sound to you?

To get something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done.

I'm new to the team and am terribly confused. The challenge talks about minutes of exercise, but I see miles logged in. Where do I post what I have done. I am really enthusiastic about the challenge and meeting new people. I am 64 and have been heavy all my life. I lost 35 lb before I retired and now have found it and more. So once again I find myself undertaking this journey. I used to do the 5 mile tapes, but now am only able to do 2. I am really motivated to do this as I have leukemia and need to loose the weight to boost my immune system. I look forward to working out with all of you in the future.

Hello all.I am from New Zealand.I am 61 years old and new to this team. I started walking to the 5 mile DVD 6 weeks ago with a friend. We are doing 3 miles at the moment and try to do it 5 times a week. I have noticed a huge difference.......sleeping really well and the pain in a shoulder that has been bothering me for years, has gone! I'm a convert!

Take a moment to introduce yourself to the team. What do you like to do? What would you like to accomplish? What is the best way to motivate you? What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? When is your birthday?

To get something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done.
