Well done SUNSHINE518, planning is everything. Shopping, recipes, meals, snack & exercise all need to be planned. Enjoy your journey.

Thanks everyone!
I just got my scales so have weighed properly and happy I wasn't too far off what I thought. Good to have a number and hope the next number will be lower. The numbers don't really mean anything to me but I know I need to see that I'm losing to know it's happening!
I've been "practising" the last few days, no pressure and not writing things down, just thinking about where I'm likely to need my syns and how much I need to eat, it was helpful as today I didn't take enough food to work so I know I need to sort that. What I did take was brilliant though :) Fully stocked up on free foods, vegetables and lots of fruit.
Will start writing down from tomorrow emoticon

Hi and emoticon to our lovely, small but very friendly and supportive team, so you've certainly stopped at the right place.
On line is brilliant, but you don't get the support and motivation that you find in a group, so I hope we'll be able to be "your group".

Just worth mentioning that if you do, in the future decide to join a group, you can be weighed at any group you wish; so if you're doing an afternoon shift and unable to get to the evening group, you can go to a morning group, it's all very flexible these days.

There is nothing on SW that you "can't" have, so there's no need to feel deprived of those things that you really like. Make sure you eat loads of speed foods with your meals, drink plenty of water.... and buy SW magazines, 'cos there's great recipes in there.

Above all, keep posting on here and let us help you on your journey.

Oh! and I've loads to lose too, so don't be daunted by that, just look at it as half a stone at a time and good luck on your journey.

Tina xx

Welcome, it's a shame you can't get to a group because you can get so much more support & also ideas for Free or LowSyn snacks to keep you going when doing shift work. We are very lucky where we live in the West Midlands as we have so many groups available during the week & at the weekend ranging from early morning to late evening.
I'm sure that you will get lots of help & ideas from this team though.

emoticon to our team. I see you're a long time member of SP...I joined in 2007 too.

I think we'd all agree that slimming world works. I've always been a group member but we have had members who use online.
I know you can track your food on the sw website....and maybe plan some days eating to help you along.

Hope you see you post on our chat thread so we can get to know you better.
Hugs
Janet

Hello!
I'm starting again again again.. but first time with slimming world. I signed up online as I work shifts and they are totally unpredictable so there's almost no chance I could get to a class. I have to say online is completely bewildering. But I did it because I'm less likely to back out as I paid for it. I do like the idea and my mum lost a few stone on it years ago, kept it mostly off and looks amazing.
I have a lot to lose, aiming for around 6-7 stone in total but will be much happier with just 2-3 stone off.
I almost feel scared, I'm not sure why, I can't really lose on slimming world. My main problems are alcohol and not getting time to eat at work then coming home and eating rubbish because I'm too tired and hungry to do anything else.
I've stocked up on fruit and free foods. I'm struggling a little with the syns though because I feel like it will be hard to have a little of something and stop there but I know it's the only way because I can't just never have xyz again.
Any tips? Any other shift workers out there? Any encouragement would be great, feeling a bit lost!
