How exciting! I've had two males and now have two females. One of each has been what I term a "velcro-dog." In other words, they have to be in the same room with me all the time. Had one total mama's boy and now I've got a little girl who is Miss Outgoing & Friendly, but still a velcro-dog!

I have had one male and two females. I actually thought our females bonded better with the family (human and furry).

Our male dog was great but definitely less energy. He was very laid back but that being said, he was also content to just go off on his own.

Good luck regardless!

We're open to either, but all the dogs on Saturday will be female, so likely female. That's funny too, because our placement rep said most people ask for males cuz they think males bond better. One of our few requests was an affectionate dog that showed a strong ability to bond. See what happens when you limit yourself? If we had gone with generalities then we wouldn't get to see these loves! And yes, September is right around the corner! Eeeee! (That's me being excited, lol)

How exciting. September will be here before you know it! Make sure you post pics of your baby when you get them. Do you know if you are adopting a male or female?

I grew up with ex-racers and am getting ready to adopt one of my own! We have an appointment Saturday to spend some time with a few who might match our family profile and I am SO EXCITED! We won't be able to bring one home until September because I have a week long trip that first week. But that'll give time for us to visit and bond with the dog before taking it home. Anyway, I'm glad there's a community on here!
