That is a good reason not to like the GNC shakes...I got the Cookies & Cream flavor based off of the employee's recommendation, but I had gone in there to get the shakes regardless so I kind of took him at his word.

I really like the Yoga Meltdowns and have not tried any of the other ones you mentioned. Please let me know if you like them! I tried NMTZ on OnDemand, and for some reason I was not a fan. That is the only DVD of hers I was not a fan of. Well - to be honest I also didnt like the BL Last Chance Workout, and the reason being is that when they increased the speed on some of the workouts I thought they were sacrificing proper form. But that was just my opinion, and I guess if Im enough of a gym snob to have that bother me then I can go ahead and correct my own form whenever I want.

Welcome! I'm new too! I just went on a JM ebay spree...and now am waiting for: yoga meltdown, ripped in 30, shredded, banish fat, boost metabolism dvds to come in the mail!

I've tried both shakeologies and preferred the chocolate one...and I've tried some of the total lean shakes. The bummer about the GNC shakes (for me) is that they have fake sugar in them... and can't stand the taste of fake sugar. I couldn't tell if shakeology had it... but with some pb it was yummy! I'm gonna be ordering some more (haven't had any in a few years) when I have a jaw surgery in January.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I am going to be using my activity tracker - especially since I joined weight watchers and can track it easily on my iphone. So - becuase I am Type A and discovered I Heart Radio Im thinking my plan for January will be this:
Monday: 6 Weeks to 6 Pack level 1 ( level 2 in Feb - Type A comes into play here)
Tuesday: 1 hour on Precor or 3 miles on treadmill ( I Heart Radio comes in here)
Wednesday: 6 Weeks to a 6 Pack
Thursday:1 hour on Precor or 3 miles on treadmill
Friday: JM Killer Buns & Thighs
Saturday: off
Sunday: JM Yoga

Sound good? I dont want to alternated between 6 Weeks to a 6 Pack, 30 day Shred, or Shred it with Weights because I want to switch it up monthly.

Sidenote - has anyone tried GNC total lean shakes? I thought it was cheaper the the Shakelogy that some people on FB were selling.

Welcome to the team!!!

Its not unhealthy to hide behind your workout dvd's because you are embarrassed about going to the gym, I think I can speak for most when I say A LOT OF US feel embarrassed about going to the gym when we are not comfortable with our bodies because it just seems like all there is is skinny people working out there, but you have to remember at one point or another THEY werent comfortable with their bodies either and so they pushed themselves TO go to the gym and not care about anybody else but themselves. Eventually you will get to that point where you will not feel embarrassed at all about going to the gym because you are beautiful no matter what and you work out just as hard as those people at the gym!

Jillian is awesome because she is hardcore! LOL I am somebody who needs to be sweating like crazy 10 minutes into a workout in order to really enjoy it and Jillian definitely does that! Her workouts are great! She is somebody that I definitely recommend when my patrons at the library ask "how did you lose weight." lol

I hope you like the team and once again welcome!!! emoticon

Welcome to the team!
I alternate between JM, Bob Harper, P90X and I run 3 days a week.
JM is just awesome at what she does! That is why her and Bob kick butt!
Best wishes!

Welcome back and glad you love Jillian too.

Each month I try and set up a plan on which workouts to do each day.
And then next month switch it up a bit.
I started out with banish fat and then added in No more trouble zones. and alternated days.
But now I have so many to choose from it depends.
one month I was doing Bob harpers Inside out method cardio on Sun, Tue, Thur, with Kettlebells DVD on M, & F, and then NMTZ cir 1-4 and back up with KB&T on Wed and Sat.
Now I have been switching the cardio and strength or kettlebells. And using either BOBs cardio conditioning, BFBM, or Kenpo X, and the other days Bob's Pure strength, NMTZ, kettlebells, Just depending on my mood.

I don't go to the gym. I would rather spend my money on at home workouts and no one looking at me. It can be done at home. I have lost tons of inches with Jillian's workouts.

Hi,
I had joined SP last January and have essentially lurked until this month....its been a long year - moving twice, changing grad schools and programs, getting a new job, buying a home...I guess I should be happy that the 10 pounds I wanted to lose are now up to 20 and not more given the stress of 2011.

I have been doing Jillian Michaels workouts off and on since 09. I have 30DS, and had used many of the workouts OnDemand. Today I received the buns and thighs dvd, 6W26P, Yoga meltdown, and Shred it with Weights.

So I need to be honest about two things. One is - I hate the fact that I hide behind dvds at home instead of using the gym because Im ashamed of my body. That is not at all healthy right?

2 is this - Can someone honestly explain to me how or why JM is so awesome? I ran up my charge cards seeing a personal trainer and got stuck in the mindset of putting my hour in at the gym. Because I feel self conscious at the gym and stick to the treadmill, i have to be honest and say that I get a real butt kick out JM dvds....how is this accomplished in 20-30 minutes?

And while were on the topic, can anyone tell me what they do to supplement JM dvds? I feel I should get on the treadmill......would you alternate JM days and pure cardio days? Try to fit in an hour a day?
