Hi first time on here. I am reading the book been working out hard for two weeks now 5 days a week and eating right. Lost 7pounds now today weight myself same weight no loss very frustrating. But I am sticking with it and feed back on tips to lose it more quickly I have a wedding in October!

Hello everyone, I am new to this team but not new to sparkpeople. I have a lot of weight to lose. Last year I lost 80lbs and I fell off the wagon and gained back 50lbs in 6 months. I am trying not to beat myself up about it and focus on what made me slip back into my old habits so it does not happen again. I am focused on the future and meeting my goals and keeping it off FOREVER! That is what makes me tick. I am looking for a team that I can go for support and find a fitness buddie. I look forward to being a part of this team.

Hi! I'm Laurie. I am back to Spark after a long time away. I created a new profile, because this time, I want to do it right, do it with all my heart & keep moving forward.

I'm 42 (soon to be 43), with 20 pounds to lose before my birthday in June. My 25th high school reunion is this fall & I don't want to skip this one, like I did my 20th because I felt like I didn't have my life together. I want to walk in feeling confident and beautiful, like I believed I was in high school... :)

I also want to show an old flame what he missed out on...

But mostly, I want to watch my son grow up...I don't want to leave him without a mom because I'm not willing to believe I'm worth the time & effort to take care of myself (while I take care of everyone else around me)...

Hi my name is RoxAnne I am 53 and over weight. I am currently going to the gym 5 days a week have been since last may took 12 weeks off for knee surgery. I do 3 days of weights 2 days of cardio. I am losing weight just not as fast as I think I should for as hard as I am working. I want to be healthier and not have to go on diabetic meds right now it is controlled with diet and excersise but I do get discouraged very easily

Hi, my name is Shawna and I've been on SP for 1 year this July. I'm constantly battling my inner demons and I told myself that this year is the year that I lose the weight. I started off right, now I've fell off the bandwagon but I need/want to get on it again. I'm ready coach, put me in the game!
As for what makes me tick, well right now it's trying to be healthy. That's all I can think about day and night is how am I going to lose the weight. I lost 24 pounds, then gained it back due to finanicial issues. Hopefully I'll lose all the weight and keep it off by this time next year!

Hi, I just signed up to SP and I'm looking forward to reaching ALL my goals! I recently got a new job at a donut shop and with the sweet tooth I have I need all the help I can get! As forwhat makes me tick? I'm tired of running into old friends and thinking all that they see is all the weight I've gained since I had my son. That ends now. The next time I see that friend from high school they'll tell me how great I look! I know I can do it with the help of this team because if I take it one day at a time the goal is reachable.

Hi everybody, I'm Jen, and I've been on SP for a week now.
As to what makes me tick, well honestly, I'm not too sure...I think I've just about hit my absolute rock-bottom, so I'm just finding my feet and just really yearning to completely overhaul every negative aspect of my life. And it seems for me, these first steps & finding my "oomph" is a bit of a real effort.
Not really looking to be the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, just moving toward healthy & happy.

Hi! I joined SP around the beginning of the year. I sort of floundered for the first few weeks before I got my feet underneath me. I just love Spark and have been a Sparker for just over a year. I have 2 children both are out of the house, I have a granddaughter who is the joy of my life, and we have 2 dogs. I volunteer at my church and I am involved in Special Olympics.
I am always looking for ways to stay motivated as the daily challenges of life can make or break my day. Looking forward to meeting the team.

I live near the Napa Valley in California and the weather has been gorgeous here the past week. Maybe I can send you some warmth! lol. OK, so I can't, be you could have a cup of fat free sugar free hot cocoa after your daily exercise! Just a suggestion girlfriend. lol. If you have any ???? just ask...one of us will get back to you. If you need some encouragement...we are here for you.

Sorry to hear about your knee injury. Hope you are feeling better. Try doing some upper body toning for your exercise regimen while it heals. If it is not an injury, but chronic pain try walking slowly in the beginning...if approved by your doctor.

Carrie this team is all about taking one day at a time and helping those who struggle with staying motivated, etc on a daily basis.
You know one morning you wake up and you're charged, revved nothing can take you down and you get through the entire day with no trouble at all and you feel on top of the world all day long, and we have your back! But then the next morning you wake up feeling the complete opposite and have no earthly idea why, but you lost your drive and determination you're emotions are just totally in control/out of control. That's when we'll have your back.
We're here for the good, the bad, and the ugly, the highs and the lows and lowest of lows.

If I may One thing I have learned is not to look at the entire picture It's too overwhelming.Set daily goals and take one dy at a time.
And there is no such thing as failure only non-accomplishments. If you don't fullfill a goal one day just bump it up to the next. You WILL eventully accomplish it!

My name is Sheila - my user name comes from my furry kids - Jake and Nellie. I'm 60 years old - will be 61 soon - and live in NE Ohio. I retired from teaching about 3.5 years ago, after spending 35.5 years in the classroom. I joined Spark in November of 2009 and have lost 107 pounds. I'm finding it more difficult to maintain my motivation at this time, but I will never give up! I would like to lose at least 75 more pounds.

Hello,
I am returning after many years of being gone. Didn't really use Spark much when I joined years ago so feel like this truly is brand new for me.
I am 45 yrs old, have two children (although not such children anymore!) 14, & 22 yrs old.
I live in Colorado, about 30 minutes north west of Denver.
I want change in me, my life, my habits. We humans have a funny way of expecting something different to happen when we continue to do things the same way.
I have also learned that I am an incredible perfectionist and my expectations are always so high that I end up quitting before I can really even taste any success. There are some deep rooted fears in me for some reason.
I want to prove to myself that it really is OK to do this, for me. That I really CAN do it. And that I might find it feels really good to have succeeded at something that has had such control over me for so long!
At any rate, I have been encouraged by reading the messages below and thank each of you for that.

Hi, I'm Dee from Upstate New York. The land of snow and more snow! I have been struggling with my weight all my life. Since joining Spark People I've lost some, gained some back, felt encouraged that this time I could get this weight off, and felt discouraged since I just found out I have Hypothyroidism. Reading about the disease it sounds like it is so very difficult to lose weight. But I decided that if I didn't at least try, how big would I really get. So I'm interested in getting involved with some active teams to get some and give some encouragement.

Hi! I'm Bev near the Napa Valley in CA. About 1.5 years ago I was training in a fabulous gym doing Olympic-Style Weightlifting and Cardio. When I stopped going to the gym I could deadlift 85 kilos. The gym was 45 minutes from my house and I eventually got tired of the commute. Let me just say my trainers were incredible. Following that I started going to 6 exercise classes a week and could not get enough exercise...even walk/ran a 5k. I had lost 90 lbs...then the bottom dropped out. I had several leg surgeries for severe varicose veins over a 6 month period and with so much down time I lost my drive to exercise and gained all but 5 lbs back. emoticon

Now I am getting back on track...losing and starting all over again to exercise. I'm not interested in lifting heavy weights right now or maybe ever...but I do want to be fit again. I used to feel great and all my friends noticed not only my weight loss, but my new energetic attitude. I want that grammy back.

I look forward to checking in with you all regularly. I need the motivation and accountability. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

So sorry CATHERINE, ANDY, and now SPARKLIT! I would have been here a lot sooner but was having frustrating computer issues. So welcome to the team and by all means we want to hear from you as much as possible! The more we share and support one another the more chances of meeting our goals successfully!

ANDY congrats on the 40 pounds! I too have lost as much and have another 100 to lose. So with my 100 and your 60 we can get to the finish line together!

I too am going to be fifty this year and I am more determined than ever before to lose at least a third of what I need to lose to get to my goal weight. I have three and a half months to do it in.
I've changed my diet, incresed my activity level, and am working on balancing my hormones because they are what's standing in my way! It doesn't matter the road block Nothing is going to detour me this year! And I'm hoping I have others that will come on board with me with the same determination!

Hi! I'm Cathy. I from a small town in Central Pennsylvania. I'm returning to Spark People with a new user name.

This year I'll be 50, so I'd like to lose weight so I can remain healthy as I get older.

I like to exercise to fitness DVDs and use my Wii. I also love to read. I have 3 sons (13, 19 and 21), a wonderful husband, 2 cats and a dog.

I'm looking forward to being active on this team.

Hey people, I am Andy, from BC (west coast of Canada). I have been on Spark people for over a year but became most active starting last June. Since last year, I have lost 40 pounds. I would like to lose 60 more by the end of 2011, maybe sooner. Sparkpeople has been a great resource, helping me on my way to health and fitness. I hope I can add something to this team in the days, weeks, months to come.
