"hello wisconsin!" I am in Minnesota, but plan on doing a training run in St Croix Falls Wisconsin this weekend on the limestone trail. I need to get in a 8-10 mile run for the upcoming TC 10 mile. The forgiving surface on this trail is good for old knees and plantar fasciitis. The cool cloudy weather will make it a little easier, too.

I've developed arthritis and find running to be too challenging these days. I guess we do what we can for as long as we can do it.

I have a mini trampoline (rebounder). I like to use that, but it's not nearly the same as running on pavement! I did use it tonight. Thanks, Ladies!!!

I hear ya too. It is hard in these northern winters. I was quite proud of myself for taking my kids out for a long walk yesterday. Unfortunately it turned out to be quite dangerous and they had multiple falls on the icy sidewalks. So I'll be sticking to the treadmill for a while myself. How about you? Do you have anywhere where you can jog inside until the weather is more cooperative? Or even walking inside would be a good option to get some activity in. Another option is working out at home using DVDs or on demand videos. I hope you can find something you like. Stick with it!

I get that. Being in Florida, I waited until the weather cooled off in October 2014 before I really started running. Summer was rough. Take the time to put a plan in place for when the weather begins to warm. Start doing something now though to prepare. There are many exercise plans to begin strengthening the muscles used for running. Good luck and Happy Sparking!

Hi there,
I started jogging in May 2014; however, I have not run since September 2015. Since then, I have gained a few pounds back. Crap. I like to make excuses that my hip hurts for days after I run, and I have to use an inhaler before I run. Still, I recognize that jogging IS good for you. I just want to run/walk for health's sake. However, it's sub-zero temps in WI right now, so I think I'll wait to start back up until the weather warms up a bit. Another excuse??? I really want to hit the road again. :)
