Every morning I get two wake up notices. The alarm and after it goes off, the Kitten.
This morning Prince and Buddy entertained me with a wrestling match while I got ready for work. Also thought Prince might join me in the shower. Instead he got between the clear lining and the fabric shower curtain and just watched. I am trying not to scare him with water. So far so good. I let him play in the sink with a stream of water as often as I am in there and have time. I know he is getting plenty of H2O.

My husband thought of it. (moonpie)
Thanks for the idea about mixing the wet with some dry. That was a winner!
He seamed to be full afterward, he couldn't eat as fast , having to stop and chew.
Just like humans he had time to realize he had eaten, Gave his tummy time to tell his brain.
This also gave Buddy the extra time he needs to get his food down.

Prince is a nice name-- I guess he considers himself royalty. Moonpie is funny- would be a great cat name. Where did you get the idea for Moonpie?

Any name yet? I had a grey tabby girl years ago. We named her Uma after Uma Thurman because she was a tall sleek long legged kitty. It was around when Pulp Fiction came out. We found her abandoned at a marina. I always wondered if she stowed away on someone's boat and found her way there. The people who worked at the marina said she'd been there for a while. She was really friendly and loveable and so grateful to finally have a home. If only she could have told us her story.

He is a gray stripe fellow with shades of blond toward the tummy and paws. Has little blond rings around his eyes. There is a Siamese somewhere in the DNA makeup Driving my Hubby crazy all night long I try names on him (kitty) still nothing. Not even aggravation or laughter have brought a name to POP out. I'll think of a name but then the kitten looks at me and you can swear his face is saying YUCK, no.

It will come.

I have had a hard time with kitty names in the past, but after a while, something seems to fit and you will come up with a great name. What does your kitty look like??

Welcome! I love your kitties names. My boy kitties are Niblet, a big tuxedo boy, and Momo (the magnificent Meezer) the part in parentheses is really part of his name too. :)
And the girl cats --- Baby Fuzzy, a petite calico, and Tribble, an orange Maine Coon Manx mix.
All of my cats are rescues, and they have been a wonderful blessing to me.

Welcome. Very creative names. Always fun to find just the right one, although mine seem to end up being fairly ordinary (Brian, Missy, Roy are my current ones)

Welcome, & thanks for sharing the story of how you got your kitties names...I used to have 4, now I'm down to only 2, Quinn & Trissa, the Ragdoll's. I lost my soulmate cat, Mickey Blue Eyes in November & I now have no Siamese, which makes me very sad...So, not a very Merry Christmas this year, but I hope that everyone else has one...

I love how you came up with their names. They are so lucky that you "found" them their "forever home"! emoticon

Hi, Thought I'd introduce myself and say hi! I joined the team a week ago. Officially on day 9 and doing great!

I've got two furkids that were adopted from the pound separately, but are thick as thieves now.

One is 9 year old Jacob "Marley" (my sparkphoto is of Marley)-- he's my lovey dark gray/light gray and white tabby cat. He's also diabetic and requires insulin shots twice a day. Love this guy. He's an old soul, no doubt about it. He used to fetch cat-sized tennis balls when I first got him, like a dog would -- but quit as soon as I adopted the second cat two months later.

My other cat is 7 yr old "Sasha" Zamani -- she's a black and cream/slightly orange torte point, that thinks she's a princess and is very loving -- love this girl too.

When I adopted Marley -- it was shortly before Christmas one year, and he arrived to the shelter as an abandoned cat without any prior information. So I searched for a holiday-appropriate name, and came up with Jacob Marley. A couple months later, I adopted Sasha from the same shelter, and she also was abandoned without any prior information. She'd been living outdoors during the winter apparently, and was so furry and fluffy, she looked like a little Russian hat -- and Sasha was the first name that came to mind although now I think that's actually a male's name usually). Anyway, since Marley had two names, I felt obligated to find her a second name. It turns out all the famous Sasha's are either soccer players or porn stars -- and not wanting to name her after either, I continued to search google. Turns out Sasha (spelled differently, but pronounced similarly) in Swahili means "remembered spirits" -- the opposite of that is "forgotten spirits" which is Zamani -- and that's how Sasha Zamani got her name. Very Zen and reflective of her personality.

I can't imagine my life without these two kitties. So fortunate to have found them both!
