Welcome Kim, Donna, and Carrie, and anyone else I missed. This is a good place to be to get support, not judgemental but they do know what you are going through, I am fairly new I joined in Jan. but this is my favorite team. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

Hi team. My name is Carrie. I just turned 54. I have been part of SP since 2007 and have lost and gained during that time. I have been very discouraged and have given up many times. My thinking has been that it is not possible for me to loose the weight at this point in my life. It is a lie and a lie that I need to tear down and put in truth that yes I can loose the weight. Having support system is key they say and so I start once again. There are so many sources out there and so I will plug into this one today. I need to be honest with myself and keep on doing this until success is won!

My husband of 32 years is my best friend. He too deals with weight loss issues. We are the parents of 4 adult sons. 3 of them have weight issues and are working on getting to their goals. We have one grand daughter born in August of 2012. When that little girl starts walking and running I want to walk and run with her and so having her in the picture has helped with the desire to restart.

We recently joined our local YMCA with the help of my husband's company who paid for half. I have the time and the resources to include exercise. No excuse.

I look forward to sharing this journey once again.

Hello everyone, I'm Kim = loving life in PA - I'll be 52 this year, I've been on SP since last April, and happy to say I've lost 46.5 lbs so far... I have another 100 to go. I'm basically cutting myself in two - (started at 334). Even tho I wish a surgeon could do the operation (cutting me in half that is), I think without going thru this process, and learning as we go, I would eventually end up back where I am and more.

I track my food, my exercise and have just recently started to blog and am trying to get more involved in groups for added support. I need to keep sharing, my friends and family love what I'm doing are helping me tons, but not one of them is where I'm at, so I'm excited to meet all of you and look forward to supporting and getting support from you. Please add me as a SP friend and talk soon!

Hi everyone (waves). I'm 51 with 100+ lbs. to lose so I guess I'm in the right place. I finally have reached that point where I know I just can't give up on myself any longer. I am motivated to turn my life around once and for all. Started my journey 15 days ago and I'm down 20 lbs. so far. I know I have a long way to go but I am enjoying the changes I have made so far in the way I go through my day. Have started to exercise (I was a couch potato), using a recumbent bike and doing some strength exercises and I am eating healthier. I need to get my diabetes under control and get back the joy in my life that I have let slip away for way too long. I am so glad I found SP and I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi Kim, I am in California. I have been with Spark over a year. My goal is to weigh under 200 by my next November birthday. The past month I have been down with the flu and not following my program. I am glad to have Spark to remotivate me as I get well again.

You have come to the right place. SparkPeople has many tools for motivation and how to reach your goals. I started tracking my food, exercise and SparkPoints.

Tracking food helps me see how and what kind of foods I am eating. It helps avoid the thoughtless eating.

Tracking exercise helps me see how I am progressing and how active I am. I believe the more active I am, the healthier I am and the more weight I can lose. I started slowly, walking and short exercises like GR8AUNTCYB mentioned.

Tracking SparkPoints motivates me to read articles, take quizzes, etc., all that provides knowledge and motivation to lose weight. Learning from others is the key I think.

And Welcome to the group!! I'm in Missouri. You will find the people here very supportive. One thing I have found helpful in the exercise part is Nicole's seated exercises. They aren't very long (8-12 minutes depending on which you choose) and have been a big help to me to get started back to exercising. Best wishes for a successful journey!!

I'm new to Spark people. I found the site through an article in Woman's World. I live in Texas, I just turned 50 in December and I have 200 pounds to lose, I need support in doing this. I've been married for 31 years and while my husband can give some support, He doesn't have a weight problem so he doesn't understand. I hope by joining the site I can find people who know what I'm going through. So far I like what i've found here.
