Good for you Shane.

Remember-with strength training, you are adding muscle which weighs more. Therefore, going by how you look and feel is really the best way. Your body is changing, inches are coming off, along with weight. Plus you are creating lean, strong muscles and eventually the scale will catch up.

It's not about how bad you want it...it's about how hard you're willing to work for it

18 lbs. may not seem like a lot of weight loss considering the amount of time you've put into it, but the comment "It is amazing to me how different I feel after just 3 months" is really what says it all here. You're doing a great job and I have no doubt that bigger and better changes will continue to come your way in the months to come. :)

Hi everyone. I have been a member of sparkpeople since 2009. Never really took getting fit serious until January of this year. I turned 40 this year and decided that it was time that I did something about the way I felt and looked. I have been going to the gym 5 days a week since January and have lost 18 lbs. Should be more than that, but I am also strength training. So, I guess all things considered.........It is amazing to me how different I feel after just 3 months. I look forward to going on this journey with you all.
