Thanks for saying hello. My Dad's name was Don!

Hi Don and welcome to the team. SP is a great place to get the support you need and get through those tough days. I am a Hoosier as well, born in Indianapolis. However, I consider Atlanta my home as I have lived here since I was a child. Good luck! emoticon

well you've come to the right place. you've joined a great team who are here to help you in your health journey.

everyones chemistry is different. people who can eat anything and not gain weight have no concept of what we go through. so try this,

first throw out all the junk food in your house.

then Use the food tracker. input everything that goes into your mouth. stay within your calorie range. watch portion size, keep healthy snacks on hand. apple, celery, etc. exercise. you must burn more calories than you eat.

exercising is key. I hope this helps.

Welcome! I'm from Saint John, Indiana and know just our brutal weather can cause the pounds to add up fast!! I have recently adopted a Golden Retriever and with the nicer weather can now get out a little more to exercise. I think you will find lots of information and support on this wonderful site!

Welcome Don. Its true that being able to support others and being supported makes a huge difference in the success of our journey. I have an adult son, 27 and 2 wonderful step kids, a boy 12 and a girl 10. I am also blessed with a fantastic hubby. We have 2 dogs, a 4 year doberman and a 1 year standard poodle. I usually enjoy biking with them for an hour every morning. Unfortunately due to an incident with a loose dog I have been sidelined the next few days with a sprained ankle. Have a wonderful week!

Hello,
Yes I am too heavy, need to do something before I have to. I enjoy taking photos, and walking my two dogs ( Jake and Bob mixed breeds that look like golden retrievers ). I am on blood pressure meds and am 59. Born and raised in Indiana, served in the U.S. Navy during Viet Nam era. Married for 37 years to my sweetheart, two children one young man and young lady, and now two grandchildren one boy and one girl. Together we can do this, and from time to time I'll need some support so I will try and give some as well. Let's start small and hang together.
Thanks glad to meet all of you,
Don
