Different things work at different times for me. But if anything is jarring, such as jumping, I can't do that either. What has been working for me lately is Bollywood Dance Workout. www.metacafe.com/watch/1409184/bolly

If you have FitTV, some of the episodes are on there. It is mostly very gently, and anything that is jumpy, I don't do.

Hi everyone!

I found this forum this morning when I was looking around for other topics about exercise and back pain.

I am a 34 year old mother of three. I started having back pain when I was 13 years old, grew 11 inches in one year, and developed severe scoliosis. Because I was finished growing, the doctor opted not to repair it. At 23, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and five years ago, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have two autoimmune diseases constantly doing battle in my body and I am tired. Very tired. My hands and spine are the most affected. I can no longer get out of bed or the tub by myself. I can only sleep for very short periods of time before I become too stiff. It's frustrating. I have taken some very serious meds in the past but I opt not to now because in 2007, two of my sisters passed away and both their deaths were related to prescription drug addiction. I now take a medication that makes me throw up continually and to counteract that, I take another medication for nausea. Both make me tired. I see a Pain Management Team weekly which has helped a lot. I have had surgery in my hands but surgery on my back is not really an option right now because the Dr feels that my weight and the fact that I am only 34 make for a low success rate. I do, however, have a Baixin Pump.

How do you all exercise when you feel this way?

I have been doing Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds 4 and 5 mile walks 5 days a week as well as strength training. Even walking is an issue for me. Any movement that jars my back hurts like hell.

Any suggestions on other exercise programs that might work?
