My friend and I split the cost of the online workout video programs. We don’t buy any of the supplements or any other products they sell. I also didn’t buy the containers, the sizes are available free online and I used measuring cups.

JERF - Just Eat Real Food

I'm not a doctor or dietitian. I'm just a real whole foods nutrition nerd.

I eat mostly vegetables, fats, meats, some fruit and dark chocolate. Unprocessed and preservative free food. And it's changed my life!

I am adding more healthy fats if I see I am low on them. If the calories are low I add more food in. Saturday I didn't eat on the plan. I lost 1.8 lbs last week but I had only been on the plan for a few days. The ultimate portion fix has carb depletion days (carb-cycling) mixed in with the 21 day fix plan. I don't do the carb depletion days. It also has colored containers for vegan Food Lists. It also has colored food containers for adults and children ages 4-18. It breaks it down for foods for sedentary children, moderately active children, and active children. It looks at emotional eating, meal planning, and food addiction. The balanced Macronutrients
are 40 % Carbs, 30% lean proteins, and 30% healthy fats. Since I have started this program I get 50 some percent of carbs. Each section of this book has a video to watch where you can take notes. I have to look for the videos. I looked on Youtube and found something about what it covers but it may not be available unless you buy a set of the books that go together with the on demand Beachbody program. I bought it at the thrift store. I don't know if it is like the Extreme since I don't have that one.
I asked if anyone has tried it because I was wondering what their results were if they tried it. I still would try it just to see how it works and if I would get any results from it. The 30 plus videos is only available if you buy the package that is on demand with the shakeology. So I won't be able to view them.

I want to support part of JERF's post in emphasizing the importance of fats. Personally, i notice major improvements when I am mindful to keep my fat intake up.

What is the Ultimate program? I looked on Amazon (I live in Canada so use the Canadian Site) and they did not have anything called Ultimate, but they did have one called Extreme. Is it the same thing?

I have tried following the plan. It has too few calories for me and it’s too low in healthy fats.

That said the emphasis on real whole foods is what drew me to try it. Lots of veggies and some fruit, proteins and minimal bead carbs which is great. It teaches real portion sizes which is great too.

I ended up doing a variation of it. Bumping my calories into a much higher range and switching some of the fruit for more healthy fats. I didn’t lose weight but I wasn't trying to as I’m in maintenance.

I like the some of the different workout videos too. And do them when I get bored of making up my own routine.

I bought the containers and use them for portion control but have not followed the diet.

I have a friend that did the 21 day fix a few times. I'm not a huge fan of most commercial diet plans, but this one I actually liked because it teaches portion control in an "all foods fit" type of philosophy. I don't believe in cutting out entire food groups. I think my friend lost about 10 lb the first round and maybe a few lb the other times. She used the video workouts.

Is anyone following the 21 day fix food plan or the ultimate fix portion Plan? I am starting it today but I am also weighing my containers of food so I stay within my calorie goal.If you have done this food plan and exercised did you lose any weight? I am not doing the 21 day fix workouts. I am exercising with the elliptical, Country Heat, and the basic step step aerobics. Some times I use my walk on dvds by Jessica Smith instead of Country Heat.
