Apart from about 1/2 glass of water I have with my Thyroid med int eh a.m., I only drink (cup of tea) with meals and with 2 snacks and when I am thirsty but the latter doesn't happen very often, unless it is the middle of summer. I eat a lot of fruit/veges and casseroles/soups so I get extra fluid from that. I don't like water very much, so even in the summer when I have water, it is actually very watered down, no sugar added, fruit juice.
I start my day with a glass of water first thing. I have to take a thyroid pill, so I do it as soon as I get up. Then one glass with each meal. Also when I'm working I take 3 bottles of water with me to work. They each equal 2 glasses. Most days I finish 2 bottles before I head home.
It helps me if I don't let my feet hit the ground without having a glass of water. I keep one at my bedside. If I can start with one glass of water, that helps with my digestion at the get go. It also starts my day off on the right foot. I'm more likely to exercise and eat right if the first thing I do is healthy.
