I actually gave up sugary baked goods and candy for Lent and that got things back under control for me.

I find Julia Ross book "Food Cure" helpful in understanding this topic.

I have a sweet tooth sometimes and I try to pacify it with a piece of dark chocolate or a healthier type of dessert.

I didn't get here in a day, but damn I had fun! I know it won't be easy to get out but I plan on having fun.

I am not a addict. Refined sugar does trigger me to over eat. What I eat the night before seems to have an impact as well. Eating whole foods seems to keep my hunger in check.

Yes, me definitely. I'm just like an alcoholic with alcohol, only insert sugar. I started going to OA meetings a couple weeks ago and it's been helping me a lot.

YES!! I started back on SP 51 days ago...& swore off sugar. Haven't had a bite of it for 51 days. I keep plenty of fruit salad on hand. Went 1 year one time w/out it, but it only takes one bite & I'm off & running.

“Yes! I'm not sure I could go more than a single day without sugar. Is that bad?”

No. There is sugar in many things. There is sugar that was intended to be.

I’m not an addict, but I do enjoy it.

There is no bad food, only bad cooks.

Yep, sugar and chocolate are my downfall. Once I start, I can't stop eating them. I love sweets!

For anyone having trouble with that, I'd recommend checking out the Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge that we have: www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/calendar-chall

I am a "recovering" sugar addict and I absolutely cannot have even one bite of certain sweets without it turning into a total binge and then the regret cycle starts.
