I have found that isolation has made it easier for my healthier habits--Notice how much of the temptations is gone away--if you put your order into the grocery store
all of those temptations are gone, too But--I do long to get out.

Hey Shoapie, you are not alone with having motivation issues during the pandemic. This situation makes a lot of things more difficult. What usually keeps you motivated?

Maybe check out our Learn - Motivation page for some new ideas of different motivators or sources of inspiration. I'll tell you what has been motivating me recently is that I am determined to lose a few pounds and be even stronger through this stay at home period. I've also challenged myself to cook different things (especially as I work through the pantry and freezer) that are healthy as we avoid getting carry-out except about once every couple weeks.

You can do this!

Tried something just slightly different to keep me motivated. Did some of my exercises standing up. My balance has been pretty wobbly and standing for longer times isn't comfortable, so that I could do this is a good indicator to me that the goal I've set of walking a mile without stopping is attainable.

Hi Beth,

What a great attitude you have about being able to control your own health at this time! It is definitely a healthy focus. Good luck with your hubby--mine is similar in how he is doing more eating out of boredom. But, he is also going out with me for walks more than he ever did so that's good.

I am glad to hear you are off to a good start here. emoticon emoticon

I'm living in the NYC Metro area and it's bleak. Yesterday morning it snowed. Death count was up again in my county. Our bank account is plummeting dangerously. Our dog had diarrhea.

I had lost some weight after Christmas doing Weight Watchers, but between the zoom meetings, the expense, and isolation all that weight has returned and with friends. WW had to go bye-bye right now.

I can't control the virus, politics, unemployment, or the weather but I can control my health. So, here I am. I signed up for the two weeks free premium to get me started. It seems soo much better than WW or Noom- how come I never heard of their coaching program before ?

I'm on Day 3 of Sparkpeople and Day 2 of premium and I've lost 3 pounds!! I know it's water weight but it's still weight. The NYC virus may not be going in the right direction but my weight is!

And so is my mood. I actually feel motivated.

I'm loving "Spark Guy's" videos. I'm loving the way its laid out. I don't feel isolated. The Fast Break idea is possible even during this cold cold sick spring.

BTW - I'm not really alone I have my husband and dog but after a month of just the two of us, it's still tough. He's opted for eating his way to emotional security LOL.
