I need to do a variety of balance exercises to keep the supporting muscles in my knees strong enough (many were given to me through PT, and some I've added over the years). Torn miniscus in both knees, but as long as I keep up with balance training exercises, my knees are relatively problem-free.
I strength train regularly, but find the balance work is still essential for maintaining my knee-health.

Try not, do or do not. There is no try.
Never argue with an idiot - they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Do you have known knee issues like arthritis or torn ligaments? If so, you really should speak with your doctor and get cleared for exercise. A referral to a good Physical Therapist would also be beneficial. You can work together to develop a plan that will work towards better movement and not cause further harm.
Thus said, if you are just looking for ideas to focus on the knees, the article Coach Jen suggested is great.
