I'm not sure how old you are, but weight does tend to distribute differently as we age, especially after having kids.

Thank you guys. Yes I'm female. I guess the reason it was concerning to me is because my waist didn't used to be this size. I never measured it before, but I'm positive it used to be inches smaller, because I went up sizes in jeans. Couldn't fit in my size 2 pants anymore and went up to size 6. My weight has not changed, still the same 125 lbs I've always been. Anyone know what might have caused this?

I'm assuming that you're female. If so, at 5'5" and 125 lbs., you're at an ideal weight for your height (rule of thumb being 100 lbs. at 5', and 5 lbs. for every inch after that.) Since you're clearly not overweight, my guess would be that your 30" waist is just the way you're built.

I have always had a relatively small waist, although it's not as tiny as it used to be. Currently I'm 5'9", my weight is hovering around 150 lbs., and my waist is about 25" or so. However, I've got the world's biggest legs! (My calves are 17"; try finding tall riding boots or skinny jeans with legs like that!) And yes, I fret about them, just as you seem to worry about your waist. But as others have already said, each of us is built differently. If you're fit and healthy, the inches may be a cosmetic issue, but not something to be concerned about.

Every body is different. Someone else the same height and weight as you, could have a smaller waist but a larger bust or hip measurement, and you'd both be "normal". We carry our weight in different areas of our bodies. I've always had a smaller waist in proportion to my hips, since my body likes to carry weight in the "sit down" area (hips and thighs). Even at my thinnest, my thighs have always been what I'd describe as "heavy" in proportion to everything else.

"Is it normal for me to have a 30inch waist being at 125 lbs and 5'5''?"
Sounds like it is.

Okay, then could someone please at least answer my first question? Is it normal for me to have a 30inch waist being at 125 lbs and 5'5''?

Honestly, comparing yourself to others isn't really wise as someone at the exact same height and weight may have a different sized waist and be perfectly healthy.

I'm 125 lbs, 5'5" with a 30 in waist. I just feel like my waist is big.. like I really should weigh more with a waist this size? Is a 30in waist at my weight & height normal? What are your numbers?

Thanks!
