Mine seems to be gone. Ads are back. Money wasn't taken from my account this month.

I am willing to put up with ads instead of paying the fee for two reasons:
First and more important, the ads that run on the site most likely pay fees to SparkPeople. Therefore, they're supporting my diet website.
Second, since the ads are in frames and not in pop ups, it doesn't interfere with what I'm doing on SparkPeeps, andsome of the content is interesting to me. Today, because I was looking at make-up, some different make-up companies are in view.

Personally, I HATE being bombarded with advertising no matter what I do or where I go. Something is always being pushed down my throat! There's no peace and quiet any where any more it seems. When I pay to go to the movies to get away from it all and relax and I have to sit there and watch all the annoying commercials just like at home I REALLY get exasperated! I elected to go Premium not for the info so much but just so I could have an experience without rifling through a bunch of garbage! I'm a senior on SS. I can't say I really love it or can afford it...but I'm looking at going to SPARK and experiencing it alone not with all the advertisers! Wish SPARK was totally free without ads but probably not very realistic. They deserve some income too for all the info and help they offer! Ads =
I am currently paying the $4.99/month since my 14 day free trial ended... I'm not sure that I'm going to continue paying for premium though. I really like not having to deal with the ads and the capability of Spark Coach and its programs, but at the same time, I have been using another app for tracking my food/weight for almost 4 years now. Last year, I paid the lifetime fee for that app and will no longer have to pay them. Most of the things that I love with Spark People are available with the free version, so the likelihood that I will continue paying is slim at this point.
I have not noticed any great weight losses because I switched to Premium. Not even sure why they would say that ( I never saw that Ad ) because I thought Premium was only to get rid of all the advertisements that tend to slow down the Spark pages when you load them.? I got Premium and it was worth every penny to get rid of all those ADS!
I have lost 18 pounds using the non premium website, but I seem to have hit a plateau. The ads for SparkPeople Premium say that users could lose as much as 50% more weight. Has anyone using premium noticed a big difference in weight loss since switching over? Just wondering if it is worth it to make that jump.
I would consider the one-time fee if it were still available but not the monthly. Are there more foods available on the premium feed than on the free one? I find that I need to put a lot of foods into the database.
I am using SparkCoach, it is a nominal fee for the organization it provides me. I like the discipline of having to log in daily, the topics are varied, questions answered. I am grateful everyday for SP. My ticker shows -60, but I have been on my journey without SP, then with Spark since 2012 starting at 535. As of today I am -199.4 (these electronic scales won't let you lean and coax out thar .6 pounds)!!!! lol. . So, I need Spark and will stay here with the Coach. Worth every penny.

I agree with JUJU1358. I don't use the extras, I don't use a lot of what's available at Sparkpeople. But what I do use I really appreciate, and I can afford the low monthly cost for Premium. It's my way of supporting SparkPeople. And because so many cannot afford even the low cost of Premium I hope my contribution will help keep Sparkpeople going. And yeah, it's worth it just to not have the ads.
In four months since joining I've lost 35 pounds, lowered all my unhealthy cholesterol levels to the "healthy" range, dropped my A1C from 13.2 to 7.5, and feel better than I have since I was forty. I pay the monthly fee (didn't see a lifetime option) more out of gratitude than anything else. But I like some of the extra reports and never tried it with ads popping up. I realize this was an old topic post but someone else might stumble upon it.
I TOTALLY think it's worth it. I did the one-time fee for myself for a Christmas gift last year. Since I've been on SparkPeople for 13+ years, well worth it!! The limitation of ads alone is worth it to me ... but I also use Spark Coach off and on.
Coach Nicole no longer works for SparkPeople, which is why you wouldn't get a reply from her. The majority of the emails are answered by Coach Dean, myself and Coach Denise, but all are responses from someone with a degree and years of experience in health and fitness. None of them would be answered by an intern or anyone like that.

I am going to cancel my premium subscription. I feel very misled by the "Email a Spark Coach" once a week, which is why I signed up. On the page, there are photos of the spark coaches we all know, including Coach Nicole. I had a fitness question specifically for Coach Nicole, and received a generic reply that "Coach Nicole doesn't answer emails". It was signed "A spark coach". So who are the people I am paying to email...some intern at a desk somewhere? I thought I would actually be emailing the expert coaches.
Premium isn't a monthly subscription. Its literally only a one time payment. I paid the one time fee a couple of years ago and it has been very worth it. The site is faster and no pop up ads. I highly recommend it.
Unless of course the one time fee was dropped as an option.

IF the one payment a year option were still available, I would do premium in a heartbeat... but I will not hassle with a monthly subscription.... just not worth it to me to add to my bookkeeping management for "a small monthly fee". I prefer to know that I have this paid for and done, and not add to my bookkeeping issues every month. It is ridiculous not to have an option to pay by the year for the premium option ~ THAT would make it premium.
I would not pay for it because I have a problem with exercise, I have blood clots in both lungs for 2 years. I have pleurisy which led to chronic pneumonia, which led to the blood clots. I have everything now still. I also have low blood pressure & tests at the hospital show slow walking for 15 minutes raises my blood pressure by 15 points because my body has a hard time getting oxygen. Oxygen level is 94% but my lungs are doing extra work to keep it at that. I am on a university list that does a health couch program for 2 months by phone & online for free for people with chronic diseases. I also have chronic kidney disease, so I qualify. A very specialized diet & exercise individual program. Hopefully I get to start next month.
I use the premium and it is worth it to me for the logging and reports nothing more..
I am with you in in bring VERY limited with physical activity ( And was ticked off all the videos only show already fit ppl doing them) The coaches response was not inspiring when I emailed them to say HEY ! How about you show people who are not perfect?
I do not use MY money to pay for it however, I use google play money. I take random surveys for them and they pay me for them form .10 to a dollar for some . So you can use premium for free kinda if you do this. Google "Google surveys" or search that in your google app store.Sign up and use that $$ to pay for premium.
I hope this is the right place to do this....i'm really curious about the premium SP! My biggest hold up is the fact that usually a coach will promote exercise and with good reason, however my level of abilities is so limited. A good day for me is being able to stand up long enough to cook instead of just grabbing something. Today, I'm going to try to tackle dishes! Lol So, that factor aside, would the premium SP be useful to someone like me? Thank you in advance!! Jody
