The Ophthalmologist says: excellent peripheral visions, no signs of glaucoma
The annual glaucoma check was initiated in September 2020. The optic nerve photos were taken as well; but, I was placed on a list for eventual scheduling for the field of vision exam to round out and complete that examination.
When months had passed with no word, I checked in with the doc electronically. Her assitant called and the field of vision exam was scheduled. Suspect I fell through the cracks. Okay. Lots for them to manage right now!
The initial field of vision exam provided the "all clear" for the left eye; but, I was asked to return to re-examine the right eye. That re-examination took place yesterday.
The good news was just viewed electronically.
Such good news!!
I don't remember exactly how long ago it was that another ophthalmologist wanted to start me on glaucoma medication and I balked. With further testing it was determined that there was clearly no glaucoma.
Following that experience I checked in with the clinical nutritionist that has played such an instrumental role in supporting my health and well-being. After instituting her suggestions the eye health actually improved ... so much so that I was asked by the ophthalmologist supporting me now (and for the past 5 years) what I had done and/or was doing. That questioned precipated a wonderful conversation about the importance of nutrition to eye health.
What's that they say about the eyes being the window to the soul?
Well, the eyes are also a window into health. And, the eyes have served as another early warning system as far as health goes. The body speaks to me in so many different regards.
So, good news all around regarding the eyes with this protracted annual exam. I'll take it!!
