Well today is graduation day. I graduate from home health care to regular physical therapy. I am walking well, still with some pain, but I am walking. I see the surgeon on Monday where he will remove the zipper from my leg. That is what she calls the thing on my leg. Dr. Palmer uses a special ROSA robotics system for his knee repairs. This tells some of the process

I am going nuts since we had snow and ice this week, and I can't get outside to clean thing up. Most I could do is to throw salt out to clear a path for Margaret as I don't want to see her break her new ankle. But I can only do what I can. I have decided that I will take next week off as well, since my last two weeks really hasn't bee too restful. However seeing my pitiful paycheck for three days, was a bit small. But I want to get my sleeping better. Still hurts though if I am on my feet for more than 5-10 minutes. I guess I will just have to work it out to increase my ability to stand and walk. I made dinner last night which seemed like a plus. Trying to do more each day. Well I have an appointment with my CPM machine. I know that my Physical THerapist will want to see a higher degree of range of my knee. Had it to 106 on Wednesday so I know she will want more! She is a needy person. But she is good and has a great disposition. I can tell how nervous she gets when she hears the dogs barking locked in separate bedrooms. She said she was bit by a pitt bull at a patient's house. And Mike doesn't like the lockup at all and plays so stubborn about it.

Well the dogs if they really knew what was going on I'm sure they wouldn't mind just chilling for an hour or so. I'm glad that you are walking and that means it only gets better in time. Now that you have had this one done, when do you think the doctor will schedule the other one? My hubby's cousin had both of them done at once which was a big mistake. Don't know how she talked him into it, but she did. She never realized how she needed one of the knees to be stable. So I can just imagine what you are going through. On the other hand I have a girlfriend who has has both of her knees replaced, her husband had one knee replaced, and another girlfriend who had one replaced. All of them are doing great. My one girlfriend was so scared to have it done, that she did more damage to the knee than if she would of had it done when the doctor originally wanted to have it done.

Hubby woke up today with pain in his knee that it made him get into the doctor. Arthritis was the diagnosis she thinks and is sending him to get an MRI. So know that you are not alone with knee troubles. Praying that all keeps going well for you.

My therapist said that they are happy with a rating of 96 degrees or above. The CPM machine can force the knee to go further and then loosen the knee but manually bending the knee with no help, I got to 104. My bend on Wednesday was 106 but I am completely gritting teeth when they take this reading. So she said I did great but recommends therapy for at least 4-6 weeks.

I have the same question as the last commenter. How many degrees are they expecting?
Little by little, step by step, you will get there.

Oh wow, quite a machine. Did you give it a name?. Maybe Bob, like for Bob the Builder. lol Hope you get a good report from the Doc. I would think 106 would be good, how high is it suppose to get?
