Living The Dream

Living any dream takes determination. It takes commitment. It takes courage and often going against the flow. Every day I just want to take one more step in the right direction. My dream of controlling Type 2 Diabetes is just like hiking on an icy trail. The photos here are beautiful, but let me tell you, it wasn't an easy hike.
We were prepared with microspikes for the ice. It was slow going with our friends. One of my friends has asthma. It was cold and breezy. We slowed the hike down so that she could breathe. We made sure that it was a good time for everyone.
The wind was steady and strong off of the lake. We thought that it would be a lot warmer for our friend. While wind and cold doesn't bother me, it does bother people with asthma.
We enjoyed a great lunch outside on the picnic tables at the Audubon Society. There was no competition with getting a table! The other thing that I was not prepared for was delicious cookies! I had not realized just how quickly I would fall to temptation and eat one. Even with the hike, my blood sugar went up considerably. I'll make a not of it, and remember that one day when COVID is over, I'll face a lot more food temptations. Eating at home means that my food choices are very limited and healthy. One day, that will change.
