Oh, 2020 brought us all SO many changes. Most of them are not the changes any of us had planned. It's been ridiculous.
Weight wise I'm pretty much where I started the year. But I'm not going to dwell on that. Miss B, has made it a habit of listing good things, so I'm going to list the good things that happened and just accept none of them were on our goals list.

We started the school year in August with our public school's digital academy. It was our choice. In November we decided that it just wasn't working. There were a number of factors, but the biggest reason, I was tired of begging teachers to release that day's work. After 12 1/2 weeks, "I forgot" was getting to be a VERY old excuse, and speaking to the principal got me now where. Going back to in-person classes was risky at best considering the number of quarantine notices going out each week. (We're ground zero in Tennessee at the moment.) We made the decision to transition to traditional homeschool. Here I am finding joy. It's far more enjoyable than I ever thought it could be. Miss B is excelling and she says the new curriculum, which is the same basic material, is far easier to follow.
I've also learned my time is precious. There's only so much of me to go around. I've learned I'm going to have to create "Office Hours" so the adults in my life get the idea that Miss B's education is work for both of us.

We lost Ariel, our dog of 9 years, just before Easter. We decided in May to adopt a new puppy. Gypsy has been a delight. She's a big girl compared to our Ariel (Ariel was about 20 lbs as an adult. Gypsy is 10 months old and just over 60 lbs), but she's fallen right into our family like a missing puzzle piece. She's spoiled rotten, hates water, loves "snacks", watches action movies, and likes to swing with Miss B. I swear she's Jimmy's spirit animal.

My mom retired from factory work. I'm not sad about this. I have enjoyed the process of helping her retire, even though during a pandemic it's much more complicated than you might think. She's taking better care of herself than she ever has before, and I hope those improvements continue.
Those are the highlights. We've had some lowlights and big losses, but I'm not focusing on that here. I'm just moving forward.
2021 Goals: I have no real idea. And that's okay. I think this year I'm going to be mostly concerned with being a positive influence on Miss B's life and nurture our relationship and all of its new facets. She needs a good view of what being healthy and balanced looks like all day every day. She needs to see me being body positive.
I'll skip the beer and have a nice cup of tea instead...
