Planning to write a proper blog but not organised enough so gonna include my Christmas letter that my daughter produce which we send with our Christmas cards which are almost all in the post this weekend! I still like sending cards to friends and family in this country and will add a few extra words onto the letter to those I care about!
We have all written our own contributions to this year’s Annual Christmas letter to make it particularly special, so we hope you enjoy reading what we have to say.
Chloe here! I finished the last year of my Creative Media college course at June and after much deliberation about what to do next, I decided that it was best in these uncertain times to take a GAP year. Dorothy had a minor neurological episode at the end of June, which affected her balance even further and made it difficult for Donna to manage on her own. Because of this, I have been helping Donna to take care of Dot, particularly with doing her exercises to keep her strength up as she wants to keep her mobility and it has been really special to be able to spend more time with Dot who is my 'Partner in Crime'. Additionally, I have been continuing to do some voluntary work where I can and more recently, I have participated in the BFI Film Academy run by HOME in Manchester, a short training course which I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of. I know that this year has been a strange one but I still hope you are able to have a wonderful festive season and that 2021 brings you so much happiness!!
I’m James! I'm 16 – turning 17 in March. I am currently attending Preston's College on an Electrical Installation Course at Level 2. Since I have started, I have been awarded October's Student of the Month for my course and I have passed one of my Health and Safety exams. I have started working at Auction Eats, a local Cafe/Italian Takeaway, at the weekends as a pot washer and I really enjoy it! I hope you all manage to have an amazing Christmas, even if it is slightly different to usual.
Donna, Antony and Dot are still all in (mostly) good health too – Antony is still working for the Canal and River Trust in his 35th year at the organization, whilst Donna says that with the kids doing their projects from home, the house is busier than it has ever been! She thinks that it has been really wonderful to be able to go out more often on little walks around the local area with each member of the family.
Dorothy has been living with us for almost three full years now and the situation is beneficial to every member of the family. She loves always being able to have someone to hold her hand and her favourite meal is undoubtedly still chips! Dot's not the biggest fan of the exercises that she has to do but she manages to power through and we couldn't be more proud of her for it.
We hope 2021 brings so much love and happiness to us all.
Lots of love, Antony, Donna, Chloe, James and Dot.
