So, how'd everyone do? Overboard or within bounds?
I let myself relax on the eating, and I definitely noshed during the day. But somewhat to my surprise, once I had a plate full of dinner, I was fine....despite the fact that I ALWAYS end up going for seconds on at least some stuff (ahem, mashed potatoes and gravy) at Thanksgiving! So I guess some of my eating habits really have changed, yay!
Not that I was "good" by any means. As I said, lots of noshing, and then a big slice of pumpkin cream cheese cake for dessert, yum.
But today I got up and went for a 13-mile bike ride. I headed out around 7:30am...according to our outside thermometer, it was 38 degrees, but according to my phone, it was 32!
It was definitely chilly, but as usual, once I was a mile or two in I was okay. It was really a beautiful morning:
Let's see, what else. Paul and I went for a 3-mile walk yesterday morning to do our part for the "Run to Feed the Hungry." That's the longest walk he's done since his hernia surgery and he did just fine, so I guess recovery is going well! (Today is two weeks since the surgery).
Oh, and I got a good family pic of us yesterday - I realized recently that I didn't have a single family photo from this year, and of course Jamie didn't get school pics this year (distance learning and all) so I couldn't even use that. I had originally thought I'd get a good pic of us all in Italy this summer, but obviously that trip didn't happen! But we got a good one yesterday - I don't love it of me (I always hate pictures of myself), but it's good of Paul and Jamie. Though you can tell my mother-in-law took it, she's shorter than all of us, LOL!
I've spent a lot of time today browsing on Amazon, Uncommon Goods, etc, looking for gift ideas. Oh, and I got our xmas card made and ordered from Shutterfly. Now it's 2:30 and Paul has a couple friends over, they're hanging out in the backyard even though it's pretty chilly - they're bundled up and have the fire going.
I want to get my planner put together, and I badly need to work on my closet....I did the initial summer/winter changeover a few weeks ago but it was before the weather turned really cold so I didn't put away all the summer clothes. So now I have way too much in there! And I need to clear a few things out - I have to decide whether to risk getting rid of my "fat jeans" or pack them away.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy your Friday!
