Wow. The last time I made a blog post, I'd been diagnosed with 2 herniated discs. Much has happened since then.
- I have a new chiropractor who has done wonders for me. The pain isn't as horrific as it used to be.
- Once the (now ongoing) COVID-19 pandemic hit and gyms closed, I began exercising at home via walk-at-home YouTube videos. Once the local gyms reopened and I saw that no real precautions were being taken at my local gym, I cancelled my membership and have been exercising at home ever since. And frankly, I've lost more weight and made more progress at home than I made at the gym. People keep telling me I've lost weight and how different I look and etc. I've not weighed or measured myself in a very long time, but I've had to buy a belt for most of my pants and get re-fitted for undergarments. My next goal is to purchase an elliptical machine, which is low-impact for my back (and everywhere else, for that matter).
- I learned about the inversion machine, also at the local gym. I plan to get one for myself.
- Because of my herniated discs, I've learned how much exercise I can tolerate. As much as I'd love to return to the time when I could exercise daily or every other day, I can't. So I've gone down to exercising every 3 days. Frankly, since doing that earlier this summer, is when I've received the most compliments & questions about my weight loss. I'm glad it has been working for me - less pain. It has also been an exercise in patience. Maybe slow & steady wins the race (for me) after all.
I think that's it for now. Enjoy the day.
