I am seeing another plateau

I don't know if I really know what I am talking about but this is my observations from 63 years with this body. When I was younger I didn't know what a weight plateau was. All I had to do was walk 45" for about three days and the weight came off. Now this is the following observation as my body ages and there is more weight to lose: I can increase my exercises and intensity, eat fewer calories and for weeks or more the weight won't budge. The first time this happened, I could feel the temptation to give up. But I focused on what was changing with my body: inches were slowly coming off, breathing going upstairs or hills were easier, acid reflux disappeared. These kept me going. (I also went to the premium program on SP.)

It looks as if another plateau has been reached. My body is going through another transition of sorts. Muscles are beginning to form in my arms. My endurance when I do work outdoors is getting longer. I am sure with the weight loss, veins have got to shift and other interior work is being done. I will be happily surprised when I measure my body and more inches will have disappeared. My clothes tell me that the fat is disappearing.

Our body does change with age and so does the way we lose weight and face plateaus. It is not fair to my body to expect it to behave as it did when I was youthful. I have to respect that my body knows how to take care of herself, too. No sense getting angry with her (or me) for not behaving as I want.

So this blog is a reminder to me to just emoticon through these weeks where the scale doesn't move.

    Good points. With several chronic health conditions on top of all of the above, it's taking even longer--but I know that I HAVE to keep going, if only to keep from getting worse. Thanks!

    Oh these NSV are so very important!! NSV (Non Scale Victories) are AWESOME!!

    After all the scale is only a SMALL Part of being healthy. Having our clothes looser is GREAT!! Those muscles are also strengthening our bones!! A REAL WIN'WIN as we age!! WOOHOO!!

    Sure it was easier when we were younger, but now we look at the other things that we have in our favor. We have the WISDOM which tells us the scale is only a tiny bit of this. Plus as you said you know not to quit that body changes are happening. SO NEAT!!!
