Words of wisdom

Yesterday I posted a pic on my community feed and on FB. The pic is below and couldn’t have been shared at a better time...not only for me, but for sooooo many others.
For those who cannot see the words clearly, it says “Every crisis in an opportunity for change.” and “Worry: assuming responsibility God never intended us to have.”
The story goes like this: my sister now has my father’s bible...which was my mother’s bible. I can close my eyes and picture it: brown leather casing with a zipper closure, my mother’s handwriting in the margins, yellow highlighter throughout, and pieces of paper marking certain pages. Eventually my fathers handwriting joined hers in the margins.
My sister found the note above and several others which I will share with you. I’m sharing because in their simplicity, they hold caring and goodness...something that we need not only for ourselves, but for others as well.
My mother’s first one makes my heart happy....it hits home with so much going on. My father’s last note was how he lived his life. Oddly enough, the worry part of my mom’s note came out of his mouth to me at one point in time.
I hope sharing these little bits help someone reflect a little bit differently today. They have for me since I read them.
Peace and love
