Thursday's matter.

Thursday, August 13, 2020

Even though Thursday is my lest favorite day, it does matter, otherwise we would only have a one day weekend. Right? Cause you know they would still want a 5 day work week, So Thursdays Matter. So I am going to do something special today, even if it is helping hubby digging post holes.

Not much else going on here. Do need to start getting that varnish on the latest book holders, but trying to figure out a way to make it easier, and haven't came up with it yet. They are stained and ready to go, so will seriously get started, but when I was having those dizzies and waves, the smell of the varnish really didn't agree with me. I also didn't push to clean the other bathroom yesterday, as I didn't want to over do the first day I actually felt good.

Got a phone call from Jason S3, this morning stating that he finally has a surgery date. June 12, he manages a hog 22,000 head hog confinement and he was helping load hogs for market when one decided that he wanted to go the other way, and ram him, and after 2 weeks in pain the Dr. finally decided to do xrays, and after the xrays it was an MRI, that took another week for Workman Comp. to okay it, and then a week to schedule it, they found he had a broken knee cap with a bone fragment between the cap and the cartilages. and also a torn Meniscus and sent him to a Othro. Dr. That was several more days, and then the wait for Workman Comp. to okay the surgery, and then the Ortho. Dr. only does surgeries one day a week. Well anyway finally on the 26th he will have his surgery to fix the Meniscus, and if possible the bone fragment, but if it is to deep they will have to wait until the first surgery is healed and then go in again to fix the knee cap and figure out what to do with the fragment. They told him that recovery for the first surgery is 6 to 9 months then they will decide what to do next. So it sounds like he will be laid up for some time. So glad he has a great boss who understands and totally supports all of this. Jason still works every day, but most with the weanlings now, no big hogs, and actually does what he was suppose to do, Work In The Office, but he is always out there with his employees doing what they do. But that is just who he is, he wouldn't expect someone else to do what he wouldn't do. So 2 1/2 months with a torn up knee, and finally maybe some relief, but a long haul ahead of him.

This morning Larry and I did get 3 post replaced. IF the darn livestock didn't think they can just itch and itch against the fence and break off the old posts. They have probably been in the ground out there at least 50 years, so they have served their purpose, still have a few more to go. But do have all the ones for the front steps are done. Now this afternoon I will tackle our bathroom and bedroom. At least I will feel like I did something. Supper will be a snap, as I fixed enough Pork Loin Steaks yesterday for supper tonight. Cook once, eat twice, that is always my goal, but I really love to cook, just look at me, that is my downfall, as with the over on anyway, just had to make a batch of Pumpkins Doughnuts. lol But that is just how it is.

WEll, better let you all go and I have to get off here and get something for me done. So have a GET day. Linda

Wow too bad for S3's knee. I hope everything goes well with the surgery. Seems like the wheels turn slow when you want to get something done, that has to be done.

Take care and have a good weekend.

Sorry about your son's knee! Knees are tricky. Hope the surgery goes well and he has a good outcome. Love your cook once, eat twice method. Whenever I do anything in the crockpot it usually lasts for multiple meals, which is nice, because it was easy to start with! Fence posts lasting 50 years is pretty amazing..in fact unheard of around here with all of our rain. Hope you get another 50 on your new ones!

My MIL shattered her kneecap when she fell on her concrete patio. Sounds like Jadon has the same determination she had. Her rehab facility wished that everyone was like her and called her their poster lady. Husband had physical therapy today and was happy to to hear that his knee is healing on its own. He knows he needs to treat that knee with respect.

Oh my gosh, your poor son and that knee! Thank goodness he's got a boss who's with him, and doctord with a plan to make it as good as possible. Yep, I cook to have leftovers, especially ones I can freeze and reheat with minor taste-loss.

I'm with you on the cook once, eat twice. We're having left over hot dish that I made a couple days ago. Tom won't eat the same thing two days in a row. If it were just me here, I'd make a big pot of soup and eat it for days!

Glad to hear your son is getting his knee taken care of!

That knee sounds painful... glad it's getting treatment now. Lots of packing here and a trip to new place once a week to bring what we packed, to put it away. Big furniture movers coming Sept 9th to do the heaving stuff.
Lot easier this way and we can visit my daughter while there. There's a country dairy and store we go to for homemade ice cream. emoticon
