Well. Huh.

Monday, August 03, 2020

I just heard from the student that was supposed to be staying with me for the year. She might as well be my niece and I love her dearly and can see that she desperately needs to get away from her parental bubble. But the school wasn't straightforward with a new policy (that nobody in scheduling knew about) that affected her required courses.

Long story short: I have the house to myself for at least the next semester and probably the next year.

This makes life much easier for me not worrying about COVID-19 and other safety issues.

On other more on-topic things: Staying on my diet is much easier when I am only feeding myself. All the veggies in the world can be in my fridge and the chocolate stash can stay where it lies. I might be a little protective of my chocolate stash.

I am quite a bit caught off guard after the news. But it may be for the best. She can come down for weekends or some such to get away from her mother and give them all a break. I still have the peace and quiet (or loud music as I choose) in my own house.

In other random news, I made it officially another pound this last month and am still well within my guide for weight loss. I firmly intend to keep it this way. Slow and steady I guess. Slow and steady.

Nice job! I think your right, with this craziness, now might not be the best time to have a student live with you. Everything is pretty much up in the air at my school too.
