The small changes that change everything...BJ Fogg, PHD

I attended a virtual class led by my health insurance that was for people with anxiety to create lasting change in there lives. And, breaking the start/ stop cycle. Starting a project and then getting overwhelmed and stopping it right away. Some people need to work on positive psychology to change the things that constantly come up in thoughts that stop us from making the changes that we want.

So I wrote up my SMART goal for positive psychology change.....I am not going to share my SMART goal, but the summary of it is that I picked the book Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg to use as a skills enhancement for learning how to make my goals much more tiny so I don't give up so fast and make progress everyday, and find out for myself when I don't~~why? so I find my own recipe for weight loss.

I read a tiny part of the introduction and this is my summary:

-There is a painful gap between what I want and what I actually do.
-My approach to change is a design flaw, not a personal flaw, and in order to change my behavior, I need to:
--stop judging myself
--break my long term goals into tiny steps
--embrace mistakes, it's going to take some trial and error to find out what my personal recipe is for weight loss, etc.

There are only three things that create lasting change:
~have an epiphany
~change my environment
~change my habits in tiny ways
