Week 123 of therapy

Sunday, June 21, 2020

This week in therapy we discussed my possibility of having the surgery again. We also discussed my mom and her back and how we are waiting to hear about whether or not she will have the MRI for it. We discussed my possible CT-scan. We also used a emotion wheel to talk about some things as well. I also told my therapist I was willing to write using it and then talk about it next session. Now for the troubling news; my insurance basically denied my CT-scan as of now. However my vertigo is not getting any better and the spells are increasing. Also in my physical therapy we are unable to recreate the episodes for the vertigo at all. Which means that we are not going to be able to find the cause then. Also my driver from my transportation service left me out in the heat for 20 minutes even when I had told him that the therapist would come get me at 2 pm and no sooner but my driver would not listen to me. I ended up in extreme pain because of it. I also was unable to get into his vehicle the way I normally do because of being so stiff do to being out in the heat and he had the audacity to get snippy with me and say to hurry up that I was making us late when he was the one who caused the mess. So he had to drive the truck up next to the therapist's office building where there is a small ledge I could use to get into his vehicle with. One last thing because of my fall I am now so weak that I am having to wear my back belt just to get up and move around. Also I believe that there is pain coming from my neck as well and is radiating down to arms a lot.

Sorry to hear your insurance company will not authorize the scan. It could help in uncovering what is causing your vertigo. I suffer from Meniere's Disease and vertigo is one of the side effects as well as balance issues. Fortunately, when I was first diagnosed in 1994, I had good insurance that covered a thorough evaluation. Will your plan cover a visit to a Neurologist? They can be a valuable resource regarding medication and/or exercises to deal with the vertigo. While I'm no doctor, you likely have an inner ear imbalance that needs correcting. One thing that I was taught was if you feel an episode coming on, sit down facing a wall. Then focus on the most minute spot on the wall. It does help in realigning the crystals between your ears. Good Luck to you!

Jenny I am so sorry to hear all that you are going through - you really have a huge cross to bear - I will continue to pray.

Just a note: I am also suffering with more pain in my back - upper back is osteoarthritis and doctor says it is extreme and lower back is from a birth defect that just continues to cause pain and more so because of being obese. So I can understand to some extent what you are going through - currently I am just sucking it up and working on learning how to deal with the discomfort / pain - some days are harder than others.

    Bless you -
