The world is changing and people are protesting. Why?
They don't feel that their voice is being heard.
Some people are giving up time with their family and work in order to walk in protest. Why?
They want to be seen and listened to.
Once complaint by George Floyd's brother was; "The president did not let me speak."
Let's not make that same mistake. Take time to let others speak their truth. Take time to listen.
I'm expecting armed militia (Bundy type) "counterprotesters" - probably from out of town - at our little old lady vigil tomorrow. FB threats are escalating, and it happened in two relatively nearby small towns.
Good blog. I am glad the protests around us have turned peaceful. I understand where they are coming from. We have to put an end to racism. It should not exist. I have been praying. 28 days ago
I just do not understand why some people have to be violent, taking other peoples lives and destroying property. Where does it get them? No where but behind bars for months or years. I am so sorry what happened and is happening in too many parts of the world. It seems to me that it is just a continuing event that gets us no where quick. 28 days ago
I admire George Floyd's brother for what he said . . . his is a peaceful family, and the rioting is not going to bring (his brother) back. We have to listen to those that speak, and even if it isn't OUR truth, that person has been listened to. That promotes peace. It's not about agreeing w/what's being said, because that is not always going to happen. It's about listening and honoring that other person's truth.
